I GOT ONE! OMG YOU GUYS! I GOT ONE!

Post by MedicAR »

So, I'm wandering around my LCS on Wednesday which is no great surprise to anyone that knows me and I'm putting books back and picking books up and razzing the clerks....you know, the usual good time on Wendesday afternoon/evening. I'm telling one of the clerks what a loser he is and how his long hair makes him look fruity when I look over his shoulder and I see it.......

What a sight to behold! I nearly wet myself at first! I slowly regain my composure and gingerly ask about the item in question. He says "yeah we still have one of those" and then taunts me by acting like he can't find what I'm asking for. I was starting to look for a board with a nail in it when he finally puts his grubby little mits on this.......

$44 later, I'm the proud owner!

Not only did I find one, but I found it at 20% off of the original issue price!

Thanks! I was thrilled to say the least. What's really cool, is that the picture on the box isn't a drawing or painting. It's a photo of the statue. Many of the shadows are painted on to keep the look of Mignola's work.

I would love to come across this piece like you did . . . I totally understand and share your excitement . . I really like the style . . . it's a keeper . . .

It's like pulling 3 or 4 NM Harby pink 0's out of the 50 cent bin . . just amazing . . .

Is that Batman statue htf? It's been selling high? Very cool btw... it's always neat to land something that you've been looking for. It's even neater to land it at a good price. I had a similar experience with an Iron Man 2020 bust once. :thumb:

Very nice, I sold a set of them last summer, and everyone wanted me to break it up just for that statue, congrats!

A really cool piece from a sweet series. I didn't know that one was so sought after though. Are any of the others at a premium?

I'm pretty sure I can still get both of those at my LCS......I hope I'm not confusing Bolland with Ross, though....

Sounds like an easy flip if you can get them for the same price as the other one . . . :thumb:
