I dunno - they COULD HAVE printed more than the original DC issue since the NY Times has a daily printing of some 3 million papers and one was inserted into every issue, but how many were saved???superman-prime wrote:Is the ny times batman 608 hard to find or worth some green ?
Look around for yourself... I have not seen many others.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

Thankya! I like the #127 because it was cheap, the 171 for sentimental reasons, but the #50 HAS to be my favourite.Brent wrote:Nice X-Men slabs Slym
I need to get that #64 slabbed.

great additions, Tim!
I never wrote to Dave Sim, but I did once talk to Gerhard on the phone. I was missing an issue my LCS was supposed to be saving for me, and even though Aardvark Vanaheim had sold out of the issue in question, Gerhard sent me their office copy. It turns out the issue I was missing must have been short printed, because they later reprinted it in the "Guys Party Pack" book.
I just picked up my own copy of Tales of Mr. Fly as I am trying to put together a complete set of the numbered Everyman Comix minis. I only need about three more.

Hey thanks man! I have always been a huge fan of this stuff but I had so many other interests and some of the paintings can be so pricey, I just never bought any of it. I finally got a steal of a deal from someone who didn't know where the Woman in The Woods came from and I bought it. Now I'm hooked and just bought my 2nd piece NIGHT IN THE BIG SWAMP, which was pricey!!!! I'll add more stuff as I get them. Thanks againTim wrote:Damn, Crow
Just.....damn.....
beautiful stuff....
I stop at the covers
I just bought this book called IT'S A MAN'S WORLD and it's got tons of old pulp covers and interiors. It's really cool but I really like to compare the original to the finished published art and the book doesn't compare them. If you check out my site I just launched www.pulpillustrationart.com I compare a few covers with their original art. Mostly I just created the website hoping someone would come across it and remember something they inherited or had in their attic and then sells it to me
I had seen NIGHT IN THE BIG SWAMP at SDCC but the guy didn't have the original magazine from which it came, and that was important to me, so I passed (not to mention the high price!). He only knew the name of the mag and the decade. I finally tracked it down with some sleuthing, then found the mag on ebay for $5. Then I got in touch with the guy from the con, who still had the painting for sale. He lowered the price $450 from the con price and I bought it ! I love it
