YOUR 20 Questions for Jim Shooter, Dark Horse interview DONE
We have been invited by J.C. Vaughn of Gemstone/SCOOP to participate in an
upcoming interview with Jim Shooter related to the announcement about
Dark Horse's revival of Magnus, Solar, and Turok.
Please reply to this post with questions that you would like to see asked
in the interview.
ALSO, the questions will be posted with your name and location...
be sure to include those details...
such as:
Q: What color skin will Solar have? Are you keeping the red suit?
-Greg Holland, Little Rock, Arkansas
Remember, the announcement said that the Magnus, Solar, and Turok stories
will be different from both the Gold Key history and different from VALIANT.
20 Questions will be asked, if we have more than that, then 20 will be selected
by myself and Mr. Vaughn... so ask away!
[[UPDATE: The interview is NOW ONLINE, August 7, 2009: ]]

Are you still open to working with VEI if they continue to re-launch Valiant?
Alejandro - Bay Area, CA
Will Doctor Solar be the man from the Gold Key Comics with a new spin on it or will it be an entirely different guy like you did at Valiant?

Question: As unlikely as it may seem, do you think you have a chance to top the quality of the work you did at Valiant with your Dark Horse work?
Question: Can you shed any details on what the format is going to be as far as Dark Horse Presents introducing these characters?
Question: Any chance you'll use any characters Dark Horse already owns that were created for Dark Horse, such as Comics Greatest World characters, for the titles you'll be working on for Dark Horse?

Since this announcement was unexpected and came sort of "out of the blue" at the San Diego Con, can you describe the process of how this opportunity with these characters at Dark Horse came about? Was it something you've been considering long term, or did this relationship just blossom recently?

Question: Any chance you will introduce the "Org of Plasm" concept into the new books?
- Will there be any big crossovers planned for the books?
- Are the upcoming 4 series going to be regular ongoing monthlies or alternating 4-issue mini-series?
- How big is "Dark Horse" planning to expand the line in terms of titles per year? (one-shots, ongoings or mini-series)
- Which artist would you like to work with from the current Dark Horse roster?
- Are there any artists who you have worked with in the past that you would like to work with again on these new books?
- Is the next "Dark Horse Presents" relaunch series all yours to run for just the Gold Key characters that were announced and is there a chance of re-introducing some of the Defiant/Broadway characters in the series as well?
- Any chance of "Dark Horse" publishing your work on "Schism" with maybe some remastered Archive editions/collections of the early Defiant Comics or Broadway Comics?
- Do you have any creator-owned work coming from Dark Horse along with the Gold Key characters?

- What will your involvement be in the new books (the news have talked about "overseeing" and "writing")?
- Will the new stories appear in DHP or in their own comics?
- Are there plans for a massive launch or will there be a little at a time?
- Is there a long-term commitment to the new stories from Dark Horse?
- Will the initial stories be self-contained or part of longer sagas?
- Is there a long-term hope for a universe to be built around these characters?
- Do you have other projects going?
- Will you work exclusively for Dark Horse?
- Could the Magnus/Nexus/Predator-crossovers have any place in this project?
- Has it been decided who you will work with?
- Who would you like to work with?
- Are there any old ideas around (from Dark Horse's old interest in the characters) or do you have a clean slate?
- Are you as excited as we are?

The question I was considering.UnknownTales wrote:One of my favorites is Dr. Spektor from The Occult Files of Doctor Spektor. Do you have plans to include this amazing character and could you elaborate how he fits into the Gold Key Shooter universe?

Dark Horse have been publishing archives of Gold Key titles prior to this launch, but have also been publishing other archives such as Nemesis and Magicman - are there any plans to include characters other than the Gold Key ones in the fledgling universe (specifically those mentioned or Dark Horse's own Comics Greatest World characters)?
