Dark Horse Gold Key Schedules
Has anything been mentioned yet about when the Dark Horse Gold Key titles might begin?
I thought I read something somewhere about that. Thanks.

The Dark Horse/May solicits should be out any day now. Maybe some new titles will be previewed in there...StarBrand wrote:Has anything been mentioned yet about when the Dark Horse Gold Key titles might begin?

Once they do, can the thread be made a sticky please?vikingspawn wrote:The Dark Horse/May solicits should be out any day now. Maybe some new titles will be previewed in there...StarBrand wrote:Has anything been mentioned yet about when the Dark Horse Gold Key titles might begin?

Strictly a guess, but I don't think there will be anything until the May Previews. Dark Horse did a really good job using Conan #0 to give their first Conan series a real boost.
If I had a vote (other than the impulse of RIGHT NOW!), it would be to have the first issue or issues in the May Previews, to take advantage of the Free Comic Book Day issue and make sure that there was something out by San Diego.

That does sound smart. The FCBD book would bring it to people's attention to be able to pre-order stuff in May. That would probably give the line the best visibility and give the retailers a good chance to gauge interest and get decent pre-order estimates. Now, if it slips to the July or August previews, that could be disappointing.JCVaughn wrote:Strictly a guess, but I don't think there will be anything until the May Previews. I'm now almost to the point that I'd put money on July for the first title, whatever it is. Tthis is me convincing myself that my post above is right, btw.StarBrand wrote:I thought I recalled someone discussing on this board a few months age Solar would be premiering in July. Hey, just because it makes no sense with my model (being in May Previews for July on sale, using the push from FCBD to boost awareness and sales of the one in the May Previews), doesn't mean that I'm right.vikingspawn wrote:What about a release in June?
June solicits are out in a few weeks.
Is the "Dark Horse Presents" book still being a part of the GK line?
Only time will tell.

Shooter mentions in this interview he believes Turok, Son Of Stone #1 to be debuting in September! Thanks for the heads up on this interview, VikingSpawn.

So, it's safe to say Magnus and Solar would debut before Turok, isn't it? Therefore we should have at least 3 Dark Horse Gold Key ongoing titles by September, and if they're still planning to debut these characters in a new Dark Horse Presents ongoing a good possibility for four ongoings.StarBrand wrote:Shooter mentions in this interview he believes Turok, Son Of Stone #1 to be debuting in September! I remember 6 mos. or so ago there was some talk about the Gold Key characters debuting in a relaunched Dark Horse Presents. It seems that might have faded away, though.raymondsolar wrote:From what I've been told all of the books are being solicited and released as stand alone ongoing titles. Dark Horse is understandably excited about the response so far.
