cool free stuff

Post by toddyboy »

no, i'm not giving any away. i'm referring to the freebies given away by steve oliff in the '90s. i came across two freebies in my collection; a color print of a page from an akira comic, and a page from a comic that i don't recognize that consists of a color backer and a celluloid negative (is the best way i can describe it). neither one are very cool in my opinion.

so it got me wondering, did any of u get some "cool free stuff" and is it cooler than mine?

I got some cool free stuff back in the day but I don't know how cool it is because I gave it to a friend who was way more into comics than I am.

My local comic store owner had contests back in the heyday of Valiant and he would put one coupon per $10 worth of comics purchased in a jar and then at the end of the month, draw a winner. I ended up winning two separate contests: a Harbinger Pink and an X-O Gold. I was very stoked!

Also, when Future Comics started up, I put together a pretty extensive website which no longer exists thanks to Geocities, but the bios can still be seen at this site:

That caught the attention of Bob Layton, who sent me a couple autographed variant comics which I thought was pretty cool of him. :)
