Who is NOT getting the 1:20 or 1:50 variants?
Okay, I am excited about the new Valiant. I have ordered the XO issue, and the pull box variant. But as much as I want to get one, I can't justify spending $50 for a 1:20 variant or $75 for a 1:50 variant (or more!). Especially since I don't have a LCS and order online, it means I would then ALSO have 20 or 50 issues of the regular one.
Anyone else in a similar boat?
Of course, this probably means in two or three years, I will be paying $100+ for the variants on ebay.

Im happy to order extras to accommodate anyone who wants the big guns, but need to work out what they might sell for upon release?

I might have to take you up on that if I come up empty in my city. Though I think I may still have a chance.Draco wrote:Im happy to order extras to accommodate anyone who wants the big guns, but need to work out what they might sell for upon release?

I won't even be getting a pullbox variant as my LCS requires you to have 10 titles to get one

You should print out this page:

Show them the $1.99 price, and remind them that you have an internet connection.

I'm not bothering with the variants ... I'm just here for the stories this time. And I am really looking forward to the stories.

I would love to have the 1:20 variant as I think it's a great cover, but I'm not paying over cover price, so no, I'm not getting any of the variants.
I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

I would like to get the 1:20 variants I have seen so far (the XO cover by Aja is my favorite XO cover), but I am not planning to get the 1:50 QR variants.

Nice...definitely ordering through here in the future. Actually a little peeved 'cause I just payed double the price they have listed for the XO: Birth TPB. Do they offer subscriptions, or will Valiant eventually?greg wrote:BruceReville wrote:I won't even be getting a pullbox variant as my LCS requires you to have 10 titles to get one

If I can snag them all for what DCBS was asking for the X-O variants, I'll probably try to get the rest of the launch variants as well. If not, I'll just be satisfied with the regular editions.

All I care about is the regular, any variants I might come into at a fair price is just bonus.

I dont really care about the variants, I'm looking forward to the stories (like many others). Some of the variants are cool looking but I refuse to spend extra money on them.

I am not into variants anymore either, but I want to support Valiant as much as possible. So I figure, why not pick up the first round of variants?Eternalwarrior68 wrote:I dont really care about the variants, I'm looking forward to the stories (like many others). true.. it all depends on how much they cost i.e $20-$70 way to much for me.BugsySig wrote:I am not into variants anymore either, but I want to support Valiant as much as possible. Supporting Valiant is just trying the books, reposting/tweeting etc etc, buying variants is supporting retailers, some of whom will not put the money back into the industry if you know what i mean.Eternalwarrior68 wrote:true.. it all depends on how much they cost i.e $20-$70 way to much for me.BugsySig wrote:I am not into variants anymore either, but I want to support Valiant as much as possible. Re: Who is NOT getting the 1:20 or 1:50 variants?
I was referring really to the pull box variants...Leave the rest for collectors. But while the money is going to the retailer (not such a bad thing these days either) it will encourage them to continue or increase orders for Valiant books, which does benefit the company.Draco wrote:Supporting Valiant is just trying the books, reposting/tweeting etc etc, buying variants is supporting retailers, some of whom will not put the money back into the industry if you know what i mean.Eternalwarrior68 wrote:true.. it all depends on how much they cost i.e $20-$70 way to much for me.BugsySig wrote:I am not into variants anymore either, but I want to support Valiant as much as possible.
