I had the 1,000,000th post on this board and all I got was this lousy custom ranking.

I'm trying to fill in my collection. It's mostly some junk commons and the last issues of a couple series. Local shop is not an option. Where do you guys buy?

Patience on eBay or is there a better option? I'm trying to avoid buying 10 comics I already have, just to get one I need.

Start a thread in the Buy/Sell/Trade section with your needs. I've gotten a lot of my collection from various board members here :thumb:

If they really are commons... MileHighComics.com might be a viable option.
Their current 60% off code is: NEALADAMS! (exclamation point required, I believe.)

I think it ends tonight.

Thanks! I'll check that out and what they don't have, I'll see what the board can do.

Just make a list - many folks here can help with commons. When it gets smaller, just keep posting whenever it changes.

You may be surprised how many commons you may get for only the price of postage. Folks here can be very generous.

Besides this awesome site and members, I'll give a shout out for Comic Collector Live. Many Valiant common, uncommon and key issues have passed through the site. I have a store on CCL and offer a special shipping rate for ValiantFans board members. :thumb:

I've used that site. I bought many NM common Valiant issues off of a very good seller there.

Besides CCL I've used MyComicShop.com and FearlessReaders.com to fill in holes in my collection. All comics on Fearless Readers are $1, and they have a dedicated Valiant section linked on their front page. :thumb:

Atomic Avenue is also good. Board member Doorman has a lot of Valiants up for sale there. Midtown Comics had good prices on some later issues I needed last year, but I haven't checked them in a while.
This post has been carefully constructed so as to add absolutely nothing to any discussion or topic.

I would avoid mycomicshop if grade is important to you. I know you said junk commons, but mycomicshop uses a range for their grades (i.e. NM is 9.0 to 9.8).

One seller I've found on ebay who has been great to deal with is fantasy comics. He has been very accurate is his grades if that is important to you.

I'd never even heard of Fearless Readers until this thread. Old comics for $1 each? Yes please! :D

Uhm... from my understanding Overstreet considers 9.0 to be VF/NM

From my perspective a 9.0 could be considered either a VF++ or a NM--

I personally have not had many problems with either Mile High or Mycomicshop. Though both have screwed up at least 1 comic in 1 or 2 orders out of probably 20-40.

I'm getting a little upset with mycomicshop though as they shorted me on a comic on my last order and have not replied to my email. it's a $1 comic... but kinda important as I ordered the whole dang run from them.
It's not that I don't have an avatar... I've just been working on it for the last few hundred years.

My point is they grade according to range.

I've ordered from them twice. I thought maybe the first time was a mistake. They are garbage. Their stuff is overpriced and giving a grade range when you are asking prices for a high grade in the range is irritating to me. I don't like Mile High either.

I will admit I am very picky. I am trying to complete a NM (9.4) raw set of VH1 so I get irritated when I order the same issue 4 or 5 times trying to get a 9.4.
