I like the preview art though I can't wait to see what the next artist is going to bring.

Please be careful of spoilerish thread titles! Just because it is in the Spoilers section doesn't mean the titles are hidden. They are still visible when viewing threads with new posts.
I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Sweet Flamingo cover. They need to do a poster eventually with all the "headshot" Harbinger covers.
Can't wait to read this book every month...it really is excellent.

I did put *Spoilers* in the title, so your comment is fairly redundant.Heath wrote:Please be careful of spoilerish thread titles! Just because it is in the Spoilers section doesn't mean the titles are hidden. They are still visible when viewing threads with new posts.

Nice info. I see that the web address shown is registered by Dinesh. I hope it will be used for viral marketing. Btw, I also read the whole thread title before relizing it contained the word "spoilers". No problem for me, but might be for others.

Re: Dysart Harbinger Interview *SPOILERS*
Read this interview earlier this morning on CBR. I'm glad Dysart's spent so much time laying down the groundwork for the series in this initial arc, and I'm excited for the "Renegades" arc to begin, but I'm even more stoked to see what he will do once he's moved out of the shadow of the original VH1 Harbinger and is able to start telling some stories of his own. Also very glad to hear that Faith is Dysart's favourite character. I think he's done good things with Pete in this new series, but Faith should be the heart and soul of the book imho

Re: Dysart Harbinger Interview *SPOILERS*
Love Dysart's note on decompression:
"It's funny -- there's really a little bit of debate on the Internet. We've overwhelmingly gotten positive press, which is amazing and really awesome. There has been a little bit of debate on whether we are being too decompressionist with it. Really, we're just exploring the story of the zero issue. We're taking one small issue that David Lapham did and we're turning it into a story arc. I could see arguments against decompression that are probably applicable to us, but at the same time, it was so important to touch on these aspects that were really interesting. First, we needed to show Joe and Peter's relationship and we needed to talk about how these kids come from the streets. We needed to show Peter's potential first power, so that's issue #2 -- and we can't get away without showing the power the Harbinger Foundation has, which is issue #3. Now that we've done those three things, issues #4 and #5 can really be about ramping it up. What are the inherent philosophical differences between Harada as a superpowered person who can affect the world and Peter as a superpowered person who can affect the world, and how do those philosophical differences turn into a violent split? That's going to fuel the rest of the series until the day it's over."

I am not sure what you mean by too fat.Brother Darque wrote:does anybody think that Faith looks a little too fat?
She is heavier than the old book, but very reasonably depicted for what I see on a regular basis in the Midwest. Honestly, I think the fact that there are not more heavy people in comics is just a failure to reflect our times. Ethnicity is represented far more than different weights in comics though you can make some practical defenses for why this is.

Re: Dysart Harbinger Interview *SPOILERS*
I don't think she's 'fatter' than in the original, necessarily. She DOES dress more provocatively in this set. As a high school teacher, I've seen numerous kids who aren't 'size twos' struggling with current fashion trends.
For example, a size 6 child is NOT fat - but wearing most shorts designed for kids today - would look un-flattering.
In the late-eighties and early nineties - the rage WAS the giant sweatshirts and sweaters - most of Faith's outfits were in that genre.
When I see a size 12-16 kind of kid - my Faith estimate - I see the quandary of wearing unfashionable clothes, or wearing clothes that 'fit' but are unflattering to her body type. Faith has chosen the latter.

Re: Dysart Harbinger Interview *SPOILERS*
She's 18 and 215 lbs. She's probably 5'2"-5'7" at the most. She's a big girl, there's no denying that. I've been surrounded by larger women my whole life, grandmother, aunt's, mother, It seems pretty normal to me to have more people with a larger body type, than to not. Faith is awesome imo.

Re: Dysart Harbinger Interview *SPOILERS*
Hopefully Evans will be back on the next arc like Nord on XO. It is a different, but well planned, strategy to keep their books coming out on time by rotating in fill in artists while the main artist gets a few issues ahead.missjay wrote:I was a bit surprised too when I saw her in the dress, but I love it.Brother Darque wrote:does anybody think that Faith looks a little too fat?

Re: Dysart Harbinger Interview *SPOILERS*
I don't think she is supposed to look good in the dress, she is supposed to look out of place in it because it's not the right size or whatever, she doesn't go out much, etc. , it's supposed to be surprising to the audience that the good looking guy wants to meet her...presumably for nefarious purposes, or at least it seemed that way to me when I read the part with her in the latest issue.
Of course, my mind is probably warped by the psychological torture TV shows tend to put obese women through for no apparent reason (wasn't it Criminal Minds where the geeky overweight girl finally gets a date, only for it to turn out he's a serial killer merely interested in murdering fat women?).
