What exactly is a Bloodshot 0 Platinum?

Is it a printing error or a printer test run? Does anyone know the answer for certain?

Not for certain, but we do know the creators of the book were not involved, and the book was not solicited and copies did not come with a letter from Valiant or any explanation. Kevin Van Hook specifically said he didn't know anything about it. It is likely an experiment that the printing team created. Most copies found were among Bloodshot #0 Gold copies at dealers who earned the golds.

My guess is that there are 100 or so... maybe 200 or 300... but unless there is a stack somewhere, I think 300 is a high estimate. About 25 are known right now, and there's a good chance that others will be found, and also a good chance that many will never be found since comics can sit quietly for decades, and even when sold, may sit somewhere new for more decades.

I don't want to imagine how many hundreds of thousands of bargain books Elveen checked before he ran across that one.

I will own one of these ... there is no other option ... be it found in the wild or on the 'bay ... I will own one.

Besides, if I can find golds like a $1 party favor in the wild, I can find this book too! :hope:

Here is the quick story on how I got mine. I lifted it from my thread.

So I wish that the story was a bit more dramatic, but here it is. (I wish I could tell you I got it in a trade from some Templar Knights, but I did not)

I was at a show, and pre-show a good amount of the dealers go digging through the boxes of the ..... um.... not so regular dealers looking for treasure.

So I walk up to a booth (one of the WCVC dudes is with me, I'll keep his name out to protect the innocent) and I see a Valiant tab in a box.

SWEET! I love seeing Valiant tabs.

I pull the tab forward and the 1st book I see is the Plat. I stop for a moment, clear my mind and double check the price box. I mean, I know what a Plat is, and I've checked the price box of TONS and I mean TONS of BS #0s And no tho one has no price.

So I pause for one quick moment thinking of the perfect thing to say to my homie next to me.

................................. ( I pull the book out of the box show it to him and say......)

"You think I should get this?"

His answer was PERFECT!

"I'll split it with you."

And there it is. I walked over to the dude and pay and it's mine.

I then showed a few of the other WCVC dudes and they thought it could be a 9.6-9.4. Regardless, it needs to be CGCed. So off it went, and good news, it's a 9.6.

Now, once Comikaze is over this weekend, I'll get a price and put it up for sale.

I wish there were ninjas and radioactive slime and and Land Speeder involved..... but nope. Just pulled it out of a box. It was just sitting there waiting for me.

That's what makes it a great story. Found in the wild, being sold by guys that know comics... at a convention. How many thousands of people thumbed through that box over the years and passed on it?

The odds are freaking astronomical. You were the right man in the right place at the right time.

It's occurrences like this that make me stop and backtrack in time and think of all of the things that could have gone differently that would have prevented it from happening.

It could have been at the back of the box and you gave up three quarters of the way through.
Some guy could have had a flat tire on your route, caused traffic and you to be late, leaving you no time to go hunting.
You could have chosen to get in line at a signing, or gone to a panel instead.
The vendor could have been shorthanded that day, and just left some of the pulpy boxes back at the store.

Love the story. So many choices and occurrences had to go exactly right in order to have given you that small window of opportunity.
