Book of the Month - December 2016

Post by Keith »

Alright gang, we're going to have to do things a little different this month. Valiant put out more books than the poll system will allow options for, even if I took out the ever popular ice cream option. So we're going to have to go manual this month, and hopefully this can get sorted out for the future.

So here's the deal. Reply back to this post or PM me with your top two titles from December. I'll keep track, and update this initial post with the ongoing results. As always, feel free to rank all the books...

A&A #10 -- 1
Bloodshot USA #3
Britannia #4 -- 6
Divinity III #1 -- 8
Divinity III: Komandar Bloodshot #1 -- 5
Faith #6
Generation Zero #5
Harbinger Renegade #2 -- 2
Ninjak #22 -- 2
Savage #2 -- 7
Wrath of the Eternal Warrior #14 -- 1
Stalinverse brand Ice Cream - In Mother Russia, Ice Cream Eats You

1] Britannia #4 - excellent finish to this series.
2] Ninjak #22 - stunning art in this 95% silent issue.
3] Divinity III #1 - cool start to Stalinverse.
4] Savage #2 - really great art, and hints at a connection to a well known element of the Valiant U.
5] Divinity III: Komandar Bloodshot #1 - interesting but quick story.
6] Wrath of the Eternal Warrior #14 - nice finish to this volume of Gilad's story.
7] Harbinger Renegade #2 - decent read.
8] Faith #6 - continues on with positive light hearted fare.
9] Bloodshot USA #3 - such a flawed premise to this.
10] A&A #10 - no interest in reading any more about Oliver Dumpbucket & Davey.
11] Generation Zero #5 - meh.

I can't make a decision to pick just 2!

1) Britannia #4 - brilliant finale to the first mini-series.

2) Divinity III #1 - Stalinverse!!!

2b) Ninjak #22 - fantastic silent issue. This would have been even better if they had added a digital code to an animated/guided version.

2b) Divinity III KB #1 - another great alternate story just like Fall of BS and 4001 AD BS.

Updated w/ Greg's votes. Interesting that we aren't logging the usual number of votes for this month than normal. Is it the lack of anonymous polling this time around?

Currently, Divinity III #1 leads with 5 votes. Britannia #4, Komandar Bloodshot #1, and Savage #2 are tied at 2nd with 3 votes apiece.

Divinity III #1 and Savage #2 for me. Lots of others were close.

By the way, any Arizona folks have any recommendations for a LCS for a pull box? The closest place to me is almost 40 minutes away and they weren't very customer friendly. I won't call them out here. Perhaps using an online shop is what I'll have to do. I've used DCBS and Midtown for variants before. Not sure who I prefer among them. Does Ed do regular pulls at Paradise for out of state customers? I'd rather give him my money.

I'm pretty certain Ed does do pulls, and I think a few here do buy through him. You're close, so it wouldn't be too much to ship. what, bi-weekly??

Yep, confirming Ed does pulls for out of state customers. Really a great service, plus you'll be showing some love to an organization that has been a huge VEI supporter since Day One.

Shoot him a PM, and he'll give you the details on how to get up and running.

I didn't get Savage, Renegade and Gen 0 (I haven't received ALL of a certain month's books in ages- what's with that?)

Divinity III #1 and the tie -in for me.
