Did I find it or did it find me?
Hey Valiant Family!
Thanks for welcoming, I am happy to find a community with the same love for Valiant.
Hello everyone, my name is Hooser (ˈho͞oZHər) like the Indiana Hoosiers. I am originally from Albuquerque New Mexico, and currently living in Seattle, WA for the last 5 years. I am a drug and alcohol counselor in Downtown Seattle.
As a kid in the 90's I was walking through a comic store and a bright shinny comic caught my eye. It was a XO-Manonwar Zero issue. (Still have this book and turns out it was the misprint off white book!) I collected some Batman, Bloodshot, Harbinger and A&A in the 90's. I kinda went away with comics when Valiant sold to Acclaim.
5 years ago I moved to Seattle, which can be a difficult place to meet new people being the new person. I was hit with the Seattle Freeze pretty hard, So I started to pick up other hobbies that I could do on my own, like Disc Golf, brewing my own beer, and painting. I had bought a Kindle and was looking for books to read one day and came across 2014 & 2015 Valiant Free Comic Book Day downloads and shortly after that I had bought Dysart's Harbinger, and Van Lente's A&A Deluxe Editions. I have been hooked since then!
As and addiction counselor I got sucked into Dysart's run at Harbinger and Pete's addiction problems. I know i am not alone, He freaking rocked that run!
I got connected with you guys here by meeting some awesome Valiant Fans at ECCC 2017 this weekend. Got to meet Dinesh, Warren, Fred, Hunter, Josh, Kindt, Barron, Rafer, and JDF. I was the dude dressed as a 1%.
Again thanks for welcoming me. I am looking forward to interacting with all you!
Thanks,
Hooser

Welcome to the boards. It's fun here as long as you steer clear of the Canadians.

Welcome!
Dysart is such a talented author. I am pleased as a comic book reader that he has chosen our little medium of funny books to ply his craft.

Except for the ones who take time to also welcome new fans to the boards. We're the nice ones, right Dunlow?lorddunlow wrote:Welcome to the boards. It's fun here as long as you steer clear of the Canadians.
