I'm definitely down to see what DMG has planned for 2020, but Q&W first? Can't say that gives me much hope.

I'd rather see the return of Archer & Armstrong.

Re: #VALIANT2020
Q&W has consistently had poor sales numbers over the other titles (as did Eternal Warrior, much to my lament). I don't understand.
Agent Graves, I'd love another Divinity title, but we got 4+ minis and a full lush story about the character and his world. What about Savage! 4 stunning issues. A preview.
Looking forward to more news on what is coming next year. A&A would be great, as would Harbinger.

I feel you. But this January will be two years since Eternity ended. I hate seeing my favorite Valiant character languishing in limbo! Of course try new things with other characters, but...nycjadie wrote:Q&W has consistently had poor sales numbers over the other titles (as did Eternal Warrior, much to my lament). I don't understand.

Re: #VALIANT2020
Considering that Kindt is gone, I imagine that Valiant would want someone with a really good track record to pick up the story of a character who is essentially a godagent_graves wrote:I feel you. Agreed!! Can’t just give the character to any writer, the right pitch has to be there! I’d love to see Grant Morrison take a shot, but I’m not holding my breath...kjjohanson wrote:Considering that Kindt is gone, I imagine that Valiant would want someone with a really good track record to pick up the story of a character who is essentially a godagent_graves wrote:I feel you. Re: #VALIANT2020
Unlike many people around here, I actually enjoyed Q+W and think they're one of the many bright spots in VEI. Unlike many Valiant fans I do not like how bloody the VEI comics have usually been. With that said, I think it was a very bad business decision to lead with them. Q+W readers are decidedly not the core of the readership.TheFerg714 wrote:I'm definitely down to see what DMG has planned for 2020, but Q&W first? Can't say that gives me much hope.
I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

Re: #VALIANT2020
This is pretty much exactly how I feel. I really liked Asmus' Q&W (at the time), and the latest run by Kibblesmith and Rahal impressed me. Now, with a few years of hindsight and shifting taste, I can't stand Asmus' original run. It's dumb and goes nowhere. For me, Q&W needs to have a nice balance between silly low-brow humor, genuine emotions and relationships, and a competent plot. Asmus' first arc pretty much had this handled, as well as The Delinquents, but I find everything else to be inane, wordy, annoying and honestly hard to get through.Oxmyx wrote: Unlike many people around here, I actually enjoyed Q+W and think they're one of the many bright spots in VEI. That said, Q&W has an important place in the roster, and has a legitimate fanbase (I think?). I want more, just maybe not first.

Re: #VALIANT2020
I enjoy Q&W too, and leading with them is a risky thing.
With that said, from the things I've heard, we will get a full slate of ongoings, and a handful of mini's. I truly believe we could see 8 or 9 books a month this year (at some point)
We will have Bloodshot, Q&W, X-O for certain. I've heard some about a Ninjak book in the works (could be later in 2020). Those paired with a couple of long mini's (6 issues), would be an ok 2020 in my book

Re: #VALIANT2020
Kibblesmith’s Quantum and Woody was decent but no other writer so far has got me interested in these characters so I’ll pass on this.
Savage is coming back so we know that already. Aside from that I’d like to see new characters being launched but not from FVL or some othe C level writer, . Invest in a great writer and get them writing a serious street level character ala Batman, a character who is not a psiot or immortal or old but looks young, no facial scars and no monks

Not sure what you mean by that last part. What you got against psiots, immortals, and monks?Dallow Spicer1 wrote:Kibblesmith’s Quantum and Woody was decent but no other writer so far has got me interested in these characters so I’ll pass on this.

Re: #VALIANT2020
Absolutely nothing but we’ve got enough of them and we need to branch out to something different. Now in Killers it turns out all of the ninjas are basically Psiots (or the equivalent) who can alter the ageing process and there’s yet another monkOxmyx wrote:Not sure what you mean by that last part. I think the risk is going to the well too many times. Whereas we don’t have any power free, street level characters ...let’s go down that route

That was my first thought, or maybe Timewalker, but DMG have been looking to reimagine some IPs that haven’t been touched yet...I could see Dr. Tomorrow in the works.Chiclo wrote:Britannia?agent_graves wrote:

Re: #VALIANT2020
This version of VALIANT has yet to get Shadowman right. If there’s any title/character that needs a complete reboot this is it. Time to put VEI Jack to bed and get back to a more street level meets supernatural series.
