Man, I would sit through that flick, subtitles or not. Too bad more of those types don't come out over here!

yeah, that looks good!

I did a little searching and found that it's based on the 70's TV show and Anime 'Casshan: Robot Hunter' (!) Here is an outline:

The authority of the robotics, Dr.Azuma made Android "BK-1" for the pollution treatment. However, "BK-1" went wrong by the shock of the thunderbolt [T-1!] , and organized "the Andro Forces". He began to set about mankind control. Dr.Azuma's son, "Tetsuya" became "New Superhero Casshern" uniting personally with an android. Then, he fought the Andro Forces with both the robot dog, Flender (the right figure) and his childhood friend, Luna.

well anyway, it sounds cool. If you're wondering how to get it, we will probably have to wait until it comes out on DVD in Japan. Then you can usually get good Region-free copies with English subtitles on Ebay or other online sources.

DVD Release? How long would that take? I'm not very much into foreign films but this one looks very cool.

it takes about as long as it takes for a movie to come out on DVD here, around 4-6 months. The theatrical release of this one is abouut 1 month away.. so we have some waiting to do

(a well-deserved bump)

Seeing as how this has already hit the Japanese theaters by this point, has anyone checked if it's available on Kazaa or the other file-sharing networks? Maybe someone with a DVD burner could download it and make a few copies for a nominal fee?

Not that I condone this type of stuff.... :P .... , but it is all over Shareaza. I also found this link to the movie promo site:
