One More Time!
I have yet another EW 1 gold flat that's going to CGC in a try for the elusive 9.8 grade. This book has only 3 in 9.6 and ZERO (so far) in 9.8.
The book I'm sending is a strong candidate, but you just never know.

Good luck.... I've sent in a dozen of these over the years. Average grade of 9.2. One of the 9.6's was mine, but I sold it over a year ago. Very tuff book to get in 9.8.mrwoogieman wrote:I have yet another EW 1 gold flat that's going to CGC in a try for the elusive 9.8 grade. This book has only 3 in 9.6 and ZERO (so far) in 9.8.

Are they going to start damaging the books even more after they are slabbed?ckb wrote:I think you are going to be seeing a lot of that lately. Something I can't talk about yet.

Don't forget it's the same width case for all eras from Gold to Modern, and Moderns are not as wide as the earlier comics, so the Modern has more 'room'. Also, there is an inner well into which the comic is sealed that's a snug fit to the size of the comic so that it's not bumping around inside the case (in theory anyway, shaken slab syndrome problems notwithstanding).
ckb, are you saying the size of the case they use has gotten bigger? I'll have to compare this one to some of the other, older ones that I have.
I hadn't noticed any change in the width of the case.

The case looks the same to me other then I no longer see the "inner well" protection slots. Glad to see they got rid of that because I never felt they worked.

Size of the outer hard case is irrelvant, I was referring to the size of the inner well. Specifically how close the seals are placed to the book. This refers to the new style inner well only.
