The new X-Force?

Post by Xero »

I heard about it awhile back, and wanted to check it out, but took a break from online activities (my only source of comics). I know 99.9% of people and their mom's dislike Liefield, I do too, but something about the way the first few years of the original X-Force went, kinda pulled me in... I was wondering if the new series is anything like the beginning of the original? Or is it all 7ft long arms, Micheal Jackson noses, 300 teeth to a grin, everyone's on steroids regular liefield crap? :hope:

I don't think that Jason Giambi, Jose Canseco, Lance Berkman, Barry Bonds (I don't know what I put on my body  ) they were in the comics......

I have not read the new series myself, but have heard mostly negative reviews (and then people recommending Cable and Deadpool).

I too enjoyed the overall Liefeld New Mutants/X-Force thing from the early ninties and am interested in hearing what the overall thought is on this new thing.

Have not read the series, through the cover looked ok when I saw it. I didn't bother to get the book, since I'm not really buying anything new right now.

I was one of the people who enjoyed the last few issues of the new mutants & the 1st few issues of x-force, and even started reading Youngblood. I along with many other fans started enjoying Liefields work less and less as time went by. I don't know if he was rushing his work more, spending less time on it or just didn't care that much. As his characters proportions started getting more and more outlandish, their wrists started disapearing, and their teeth started multiplying, I stopped reading his issues.

I haven't looked at his work in years. I hope its better now, but I won't hold my breath in anticipation.

Ahh....the classic Liefield chicks with packages. Glad to see he still draws his women with a big set of nads.

Cannonball is back in the title, that's cool... he's got a look on his face like "oh crap, Liefeld's drawing me, isn't he?"

I don't think I'll be giving the new X-Force a chance though, looks like the same flashy art from youngblood and other titles. Everyone's in a "I'm too pretty to look at (cause if you look for more than 2 seconds you can tell we;re deformed)" pose

I actually had hope that I'd have something to subscribe to for once in like 10 years. Guess I'll have to wait for someone to start rewritting VH1, at which point I'll have to sell my comic collection to subscribe to all the titles :P

I actually read a couple of the issues, and hey, it's your standard Marvel, not too good, we're not X-Men, but we want to be, mutant stuff. Although it is better than most, it really is'nt all that good. And Liefeld STILL SUCKS!!! I read somewhere that he is still flaking on dead lines! I guess that Marvel will have to fire him AGAIN!

I passed on it, and I'm a fairly big X-Force/New Mutants fan. My deciding factor was that Marvel released some of Liefeld's preview pages - colored and all. Fans immediately start pointing out errors - big stuff like Shatterstar's braids appearing and disappearing from panel to panel. Marvel's response?

"Oh. Those were preview pages and they'll be corrected in the finished art."

The guy seems to have no regard for proportion and the human body...it's amazing and mind boggling that his books still continue to sell...
Why waste time learning, when ignorance is instantaneous?

I think it's those old Levi's commercials that are keeping him working. It can't be his drawing - unless a lot more guys like chicks with packages than I ever thought possible.

I passed on this as well - just a well-deserved intense dislike for Mr. Liefeld... that's all.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

How about "Your Moma" which is independant. I think it is published by Nacho Mama comics :thumb:
