Is this the real thing? Not that I would spend more than $30 on it. No recent feedback as a seller, but there is one left by riptide soccer who I think is a member here.

This auction seems strange to me.

He says he "bought it off the rack"....but it has no price....and then he had to check with Wizard to see if it was the Platinum edition? Didn't Wizard publish a picture of the regular edition a few months ago, identifying it as the Platinum edition? I doubt I'd call them.

Wouldn't he have known something was different about the book when he bought it? With so few issues known to exist, what are the chances of someone buying one "off the rack"? Slim to none?---Steve

The picture looks like the real thing. I wonder why he claims to have bought it right off the rack? I mean stranger things have happened.

And who the *SQUEE* would call and ask Wizard anything and why would Wizard even answer this guys question without even getting to see the book in person?....looks like the real thing but something doesn't feel right about it.

I think that there has always been a story of someone buying one off the rack, so it is possible. Also I think that Wizard published the wrong picture in that article so maybe he was smart to call..

Good point. I think if you call or write wizard, it must concern genitalia or fart jokes. I don't think they do comics anymore (not that they ever did).

I dont think there is much fishy about it. Ive only seen some wild speculation but nothing anywhere near solid. I still think this is on the up and up.

Only if you pay with a credit card and use its buyer protection. PayPal themselves will do anything not to honor their buyer protection.

Even if this auction is legit it feels a bit worrying that the seller builds so much hype around the grade but wants to use media shipping.

greg even reports that some of these were bought off the rack..well not exactly but that is the story that he is publishing. As for which issue of wizard I dont remember, but it was fairly recently when they started adding the valiant stuff and they ran a little thing about the BS Plat.
