Re: Shadowman (2021) #1 Exclusive Cover

ASOT by someone (Not much of a fan anymore) It's not officially announced yet, it's by Paul Pelletier, it's an Iron Maiden homage, there's a VH1 throwback trade dress variant, it rules, and we'll post about it soon. I'll be sure to post it here once it's public on all the band channels. (Cool.) Awe...

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Comics Of Any Era

I’m afraid to mention this here as I’m still looking for one or two early issues (got a copy of #27 and it was $10 for an issue that has nothing too special in it, for example)... but INVINCIBLE is really starting to rocket in value lately - the cartoon adaptation is about to launch in a few weeks ...

Re: Valiant Uprising FCBD 2021

Sorry to say it, but that cover art for the FCBD book is brutally awful. As is the armor redesign - really not a fan of anything about it, but especially that oversized bubble helmet (unless that is just a really poor artistic interpretation for that cover).

Re: Valiant Uprising FCBD 2021

Shadowman (who nobody has gotten right since Bob Hall), I thought Diggle's run was great. Operation: Deadside and Rapture were solid too. +1 for Diggle's run which is one of my favorite VEI stories. Too bad it was cut short. I believe the best part of Diggle's story was yet to come. However, there'...

Oh sweet, I really like that Jenny Frison cover - I’m a big fan of her work! I shall have to track down a copy of that one :thumb:

Re: Bad Idea rubbing people wrong?

Personally I’m not a fan of the marketing plans from the guys so far. I’m very interested in some of the titles due to their premises & creative teams, and my own goodwill toward Dino & Co. - but it was a close call to manage to land a 1st print copy of Eniac #1 from my local store (and it was almo...

Re: What comics are you reading now?

Damn, I have just about given up reading comics entirely. I read Valiant runs when I get a few but it took the wind out of my sails when the Valiant output just about dried up. I miss 2012. I still buy new Marvels that I might get around to reading but mainly I am just keeping my runs going. I went...

Still madly obsessed with Immortal Hulk. Simply the most rewarding read for a long time Hulk fan like me. I also just got a second fan letter printed in issue #42!!! I thought the first time I got one in Immortal Hulk #35 was a once-in-a-lifetime thrill to achieve - a second one in such a short tim...

Re: Bad Idea rubbing people wrong?

24.75 ÷ 3 = 8.25 switch it to american is 6.51 so I'm being over charged. Is there a way to report the shop to Dinesh? You are paying this price in person and at a Bad Idea store? Do other comic books (Valiant, Marvel, DC) cost more in canadia than they do in the US? If you feel you have a legitima...

Re: Iron Man #1 1968

Congrats on that, nycjadie! I love that issue for its cover just as much as IMJ. I recently got a limited edition screenprint poster of the cover that is approximately 16x24 in size - the image really is so iconic and looks fantastic as a large print! I have owned a copy twice in my lifetime - got a...

Re: What comics are you reading now?

I picked up some of the TMNT trades from IDW on Comixology. And those books are actually really good. Probably gonna follow the series in trade now. That series is quite good! I have read up to around issue #25 or so to date. I was a tad too old for the era of TMNT cartoons and toys etc, but I have...

The X-O armor "upgrade" of DNA produced a new armor, so to speak, with an immense power shock.

"Produced a new..." = Birth
"... an immense power shock" = Quake

Re: G.I. Joe art recommendation

Jason Edmiston is a pretty great pro commercial artist who has done spoof card art before in the flavour of GI Joe - I have a print lying around somewhere of Jason Voorhees done up as a GI Joe card back figure. He does a lot of package artwork for collectible toys these days. Not sure if he’d take o...
