Re: Crossgen Comics appreciation and memories thread.

Knightt wrote:retro, did you get a chance to check out the (relatively recent) Marvel/Crossgen mini-series; Sigil, Ruse, and Mystic ?
I did and it wasn't really something I enjoyed and it strengthens my notion that these characters are now lost to the sands of time forever.

Re: Dark Horse Heroes unite under "Project Black Sky"

Okay, so I've just finished the #0-#2 issues of "X" and so far I'm really enjoying what I'm reading here, it's not perfect by any means but it's highly enjoyable and highly violent and really screams "vigilante" which is something I really enjoy. The story a bout "X" ki...

Re: Quantum & Woody #3 Discussion

Not liking this book at all, to be honest. So far I find the story to be mediocre and the art to be downright dreadful, it's a shame because I wanted to get into it but I just can't seem to do it. I've dropped Q&W after this issue and this series along with Archer and Armstrong are the only two ...

Re: Crossgen Comics appreciation and memories thread.

I'm glad I found this thread as I too was a huge fan of Crossgen during their publishing days. I came across the books by accident when I saw Sigil and Scion on a new release rack at my comic book store and I was si impressed with the art inside of Scion that I picked both books up, a week or two la...

Re: XO Manowar #16 Discussion

The Gilad and Aric struggle was fun to watch, I'm glad that Aric got the upper hand when he snapped EW's arm but I was sad to see him break the crown. All in all this was a wonderful issue and one of my favorites in this series so far, I like that Aric has seemed to settle and I'm liking this Gilad ...

Re: X-O Manowar #15 discussion

Fun issue, it was great to see this kind of interaction between Aric and Gilad. I like when good guys clash, it always makes for a fun story and it shows that just because you're good you are not always going to see things the same way. I feel for Aric and for what he said about his people being for...

"Planet Death" overall thoughts and discussion.

I just re-read Planet Death and the prelude again for about the 5th time through and while I don't think it was a "modern epic" like Valiant wanted to make it out to be I felt it was a very strong story and one of the funnest arc's of any comic book I've read in a while. I felt the art was...

Re: New Shadowman creative team

I'm a bit surprised by this and a bit bummed since I loved the previous writer. Is this something that was expected or is this completely out of left field? I love Shadowman and just want what's best for the title, people seen to like Milligan so I hope he can make this book even better than it is a...

Re: Who here is coming into "VEI" without reading the old st

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is reading VEI who didn't read the old Valiant stuff, I have nothing against it or anything but I'm just not interested in it. My focus is the new shared universe and I am really enthralled by it thus far, can't wait for more titles.

Who here is coming into "VEI" without reading the old stuff?

I'm one of the guys who started the new Valiant re-launch last year without having any prior history with Valiant aside from a couple of random issues laying around back in the 90's and I was wondering who else is diving right into "VEI" without having a history of reading Valiant? Persona...

Re: X-O Manowar #11 discussion thread

Wow, people are still talking about this issue after its been out for half a year now? That's incredible! I really enjoyed this issue and felt the writing was amazing, the priest really started to grow in me and it was a nice into into Planet Death and helped to lay a nice foundation for the story. ...

My "Valiant story"

Well, prepare for a short story here because my time with Valiant has been short having jumped on the re-launch after seeing some amazing art in X-O Manowar and Harbinger previews. I picked those books up and completely fell in love with them and have been following the line since the first issue of...

I'm still unsure as to whether or not this is an ongoing or a mini, can anyone shed some light on this for me? I'm hoping it's an ongoing since it seems pretty sweet. Also, when I first heart this mentioned I thought it was going to be a huge crossover event which I have to admit kind of bugged me b...

Re: Valiant Entertainment - July Sales Estimates

While I would love to see Valiant achieve higher orders, I don't think that these numbers are bad by any stretch and I think the company is probably profiting nicely from numbers such as this. Especially since digital sales aren't really a part of this equation. Valiant will continue to grow and the...

Re: is Valiant "different"?

I find Valiant different from other publishers because of the way they can tell a story versus the garbage the "big 2" have been publishing for the past several years, it seems that Valiant generally wants you to enjoy their product instead of just trying to sell you 20 comics based on one...
