Re: What can I learn from Dinesh suffering a hostile takeover?

If the VEI books were actually as good as a few of the hardcores on here think, they would have had a much bigger impact. People would actually still be re-reading them today and there would be more Valiant fans left.

I think they were very successful for a certain type of reader, but removed ...

Re: What can I learn from Dinesh suffering a hostile takeover?

I'm still holding out hope that Valiant will be spun off from DMG at some point and someone who cares about comics will be able to buy it. We all know DMG doesn't give a *SQUEE*. With the MCU already on the downturn, if Superman tanks this month you have to wonder if DMG will reevaluate their ...

Re: Alien looking to sell direct to consumer

This is when that botched Eternal Warrior Kickstarter is really going to bite them in the *SQUEE*. Maybe they overdeliver with the Bloodshot Kickstarter and build some enthusiasm. But I don't think it's going to shake out that way with the rewards shipping in phases and the story already being ...

Final 24 hours for this. One of the virgin art variants currently looks to have a print run of TWO copies. Just saying if you like rare stuff, you could take a flyer on this! (Also the story kinda rocks. :D )

Just checked the number of copies claimed... print runs on the *main* covers are going to be under 500. This one here is currently sitting around 325 (it was capped at 1,000 MAX, but with 225 claimed plus 100 ...

Re: Things you would like to see in Shadowman: Darque Legacy

Different outfits would be good. I've always felt Shadowman was kind of a tough IP because technically by far the most popular version is the original video game version, which is obviously not the version from the comics or the version that most comics fans want. You're gonna go to market with a ...

Looks like mine was June 2014 discussing Shadowman: End Times #3. I still think of myself as a newbie compared to most of you guys, but I guess I've been here for more than a decade now!

Thanks Greg for keeping this corner of the internet available for us!

Re: Confusion regarding "Black White & Bloodshot" #1

VanHook states at the end that this book is the first Bloodshot project he'd worked on in ~30 years, yet reading through the comic, there doesn't seem to be any of his work within this issue.

I've seen the art and can say for sure it's not in this issue. I hope and assume his story is in one ...

I appreciate that, thank you! There are some ad tools via BackerKit that we can get access to if we hit 500 backers that would help us reach a lot more people, so even a $1 pledge is super helpful, and you'd be offered many of the rewards as add-ons after the campaign ends!

ASoT & Rafer Roberts: Queen of Hell: Initium

Hey y'all, I'm gonna assume projects from Valiant alumni are ok to post here since there are also Bad Idea posts in this section.

Re: Poll to settle the Alien v DMG debate!

Are two completely separate companies really the same company even though they're clearly not? Was Alien who didn't publish Valiant books at the time responsible for DMG screwing up? All I'm gonna say is this thread has big "Why wasn't Obama in the White House on 9/11?" energy.

Re: Quantifiable proof of the Valiant fallen under DMG

Clearly Valiant has suffered under DMG's control, but there are other contributing factors at play with these Kickstarters.

1) The mishandling of the Eternal Warrior: Scorched Earth Kickstarter probably scared people off from the Bloodshot Kickstarter specifically.

2) As others have mentioned ...

Re: Legacy Numbering

So, 174. Would you think to include Unconquered? That would push it to 180.

Marvel does count series with slightly different titles in their legacy numbering. For example "Hulk" in the Incredible Hulk legacy numbering. If it's the main ongoing for that character at the time, it probably counts.

I'd only include the numbered issues, from 0 to 68 for volume one, from 1 to 21 for volume two, and so on. Yearbooks, special issues, etc, are separate.

Agree. Count the regular series issues only. If they had continued with only one volume those annuals, yearbooks, specials, etc. wouldn't be ...

The numbers for Action and Detective leave 5% of the run that was skipped over, rather than an estimated 60%+ of the run of X-O (haven't run the exact numbers, the 150 issues is an estimate, 68 + 50 + a few minis, Yearbook, VH2, etc) spread across many volumes and two to four publishers ...

Re: Legacy Numbering

Legacy numbering would be a draw for me but only if it's done Marvel style summing up all the published issues. Assigning numbers for months when nothing was published actually offends me as a collector. If there's legacy numbering that means you should be able to put all the issues in a box in ...
