Cataclysm - Ultimates Last Stand
other than the title being a misnomer, I didn't hate the main title. I used to love a lot of the early Ultimates stuff, primarily FF and Ultimates. I haven't really been on top of them the past 4-5 years so I missed a lot of crap (I gather) but the main book for this was pretty good. Quite a few gam...

Re: The greatest comic book crossovers of all time!
you are always partial to your first. My first major cross-over was the X-Books, "Inferno". Remember when cross-overs weren't about Logan? I think there is a difference between "cross-over" and "mini-series" and a few listed have been not really cross-overs. It's tough ...

Re: The Return of Deathmate?!?
it isn't as if Liefeld ever met an idea he didn't like. That said it wasn't Turok or Dynamite or anything from Marvel or D.C. that doomed the comicbook market in the 90's. Speculative *SQUEE* comicbook shops got greedy, ordered too many books in the hopes of cashing in and got burned. A bad business...

it probably won't be popular choice but, VEI Valiant. The hyped return of Valiant is what brought me back to comics after over a decade of indifference.

I lost interest around #100. I've said before that the death of Lorie and Judy was about the worst thing to happen in the series. It was sudden, Glen's was definitely more brutal.

Re: Eternal Warrior #4 Discussion
Tight continuity. It is what defined Valiant. It is what VEI has entirely tossed out the window. Hell early Image had this kind of "shared universe". I just read 1-4 for the first time. As a story, it is interesting but in context of a shared universe with a pre-established character...I'v...

Re: Bloodshot and H.A.R.D. Corps #18 Discussion
The most interesting part of the story was the flashback. That is kinda sad. The story telling feels more like later Valiant than Pre-Unity Valiant. No character development, inadequate build-up. Oreck actually summed up my feeling about the title succinctly. It is simply a meat grinder. Sadly the p...

Re: Marvel - Inhumanity
Inhumanity seems to be more of an old school cross-over. Inhumanity isn't an event, it's a series and the tie-ins that I have read have more to do with stories taking place in the aftermath of the fall of Attilan but are still specific to the characters in those books.

Re: Your greatest comic book disappointments
Wolverine, Fantastic Four, and Ms. Marvel are all getting new numbers 1s in February 2014. Those are all titles that had Marvel Now number 1s. That's absolutely absurd. Agreed. I think they may be killing the Carol Danvers Captain Marvel though, as this Ms. Marvel is a new character. I think they a...

I rarely enjoy endings for a variety of reasons but ultimately I really liked Avengers Arena. I am looking forward to Avengers Undercover. I never expected to enjoy the series, the premise felt sensational but Hopeless did a really great job offering believable characters and jarring drama.

I've missed a few issues and I'm waiting to get them before re-reading through the whole thing. What I've seen so far has been good though. I'm wondering now if the fall of Atillan is what is being referenced in the begining of Issue #1 of Avengers when it was looking back from the future with the ...

Uncanny Avengers #14
I didn't enjoy this title when it first started, I anticipated it but felt it fell kind of flat. In this issue we get a couple (1-2 or 3?) deaths and I'm wondering... 1. so how long until these are reversed. 2. What is the point? It has been speculated that we were going to be getting the deaths of ...

yeah, that is what my "hmmmmmm" is referencing. It seems like a rushed ending, rushed art (though still good, Cheung's art is very BWS-esque.lorddunlow wrote:It wraps up today. I'm very excited!
Not one major death in this "war" will hurt this story in the long run, imo.

Re: Ininity - Marvel.... anyone ?
I am enjoying the cross-over. I am curious to see how it ends as it really has about 3 different stories all threading together. The story I am the most interested in would be having to do with the Builders wanting to destroy all of the Earths. It seems to me this is the initial salvo in that larger...

So once again, a very solid issue from X-O Manowar. However, once again, not any better or worse than the last issue. X-O just isn't improving like I see all of the other titles doing. As such, I keep having less and less interest. It's sad that EW was the best part of this, and Ninjak was the best...

This was a nice read. Good insight into their personalities. Aric continues to behave as a Visigoth version of Torque. I love the lesson he got when he trampled the crown, and despite his unwillingness to listen to Gilad, he does at least question what he has done when talking with his new woman. (...
