I don't think Dark Key will ever 'catch on' and become the next hot thing in comics. They're too retro and quaint. But that also makes them different from everything else out there and appeal to people like me who miss good old fashioned fun comics. Agreed. That's definitely the market for these bo...

I recently read the FVZA trade, the Mata Hari preview, and the Rising preview. The Rising was decent but Mata Hari and FVZA were great reads. Good enough to sample some of their other books so I've ordered their Last Days of American Crime and Time Bomb series. Anyone have experience with any of the...

I read the first couple of issues of Irredeemable when it first came out but didn't enjoy it. I've read the trade since and found it far more entertaining. Looking forward to reading Incorruptable at some point, seems like a better concept to me. I'm been trying to read Irredeemable vol. 4 and I ha...

Noticed this last week. Had just recently finished the 2nd and 3rd trades for Irredeemable and was very impressed. Ordered the 4th and 5th trades and made it the only non-DH ongoing on my preorder list. Just in time for the future of the title to be in doubt with this change by Mark Waid. Oh, well. ...

Time for my monthly post, in response to VEI's protracted silence and lack of publishing. It is now 2 years since VEI had a press/news item they posted to their own website. They still have a 2008 copyright on the site, and to an outsider I really do think it can only look like a dormant entity, fa...

Great idea for the cover. That image probably more than any other in the Harbinger run reflects the feel of this series while Jim was writing. It makes quite a statement.greg wrote:Added #7...

Not sure about late books but they do occasionally reschedule. For example, as I noted at DK, Fear Agent had the release dates for the last 2 issues moved back 3 months......Oct to Jan and Nov to Feb. On the other hand, DH has also been releasing some books ahead of schedule. I recently saw a list o...

It's amazing to me that cover prices on comics have outpaced either inflation or cover prices on hard and softcover novels. Comic book prices have doubled (sometimes more) in the past 15 years. This is not all that weird, I am sure the price of paper has increased (probably quadruple, and they use ...
