I managed to get a Punk Mambo Hughes variant, but I went through many, many raws to get nothing. When I was in LA, I went to Ed's shop, and he had at least 50 copies that I went through when the issue was new, and no dice. I have a rejected copy that was screened. I think I need to start pressing copies before submitting. I have avoided pressing, but my luck with the VEI issues has been pretty poor. I'm generally happy with anything 9.6 or higher, whereas my floor is 9.8 for V1.

Isn't A&A 5 the first appearance of Kay McHenry not A&A 6?

How about Book of Death? Many first appearances. Thoughts?

I'd love discussion on this. Comic Vine says #6. ValiantDatabase says #5. I'm running around with a bunch of errands, but if someone could look this up, that would be awesome. My VEI issues are a mess. I need to organize them. That's my next project.

I think there is definitely some possibilities there. Right now, just about every issue is cheap, cheap, cheap. But, there could be some great gains if one of these characters gets some action.

I just looked and it appears A&A 6 is the first Kay Mchenry. Unless you count the A&A 5 ad for A&A 6 which shows Kay.

Yep, A&A 6 on page 4 (and the cover).

I'm still a big believer that all of the new characters we see in Imperium #1-4 will be in demand at some point.

And VEI Harbinger #3, first Livewire, warrants a strong mention.
I left VEI reboots out for the most part. We haven't seen any increase on reboot first appearances yet. You never know. The VEI Livewire is very different than V1, but I still see Harbinger 15 as her first appearance.
I disagree. Totally different character. I can see people pushing VH1 Livewire, but no way.
Totally different character.

I could be wrong, but so many differences.
Are there any other examples from Marvel, DC etc whereby a re-booted character's first appearance becomes sought after? Maybe the answer to this will indicate future potential of Livewire?

To Elveen's point, Livewire is so different to the original it's a wonder they used the name at all? :?
The first Batgirl appears in Batman 139. Barbara Gordon's Batgirl comes along later in Detective Comics 359 and is more valuable.

It seems like the most impossible task getting 9.8 copies of VEI's first year of books. The variants are hard to find. I do tend to buy any Harby 3 variant I can. Even then, there's no 9.8 in my stock.

I think this thread deserves an update. How do you guys feel about the investment potential of VEI after one year?

Interesting to look back on this thread. Cronus, most of Gen Zero and Kay Mc have all been smoked since then. A more up to date list would be good, Savage, Secret Weapons etc

I'm sure this has been answered before, but what is Rampages first appearance? He is gonna play a big part this upcoming year for our boy Bloodshot.

I VEI, his first appearance (I think) was the 4001: Bloodshot one off.

Is the new Rampage the same character as the 90s version or is it like Livewire where both characters are similar in name only?

New Rampage seems very similar to his old appearance. I would view Bloodshot 34 as the real first appearance.

I am very curious about the lasting value of Eternity 1's high-ratio variant. There are some bonkers sales going on.
