Divinity #1 price/sales tracking

Re: Divinity #1 price/sales tracking
I'm surprised the #1 1:20 or 1:25 (which is it by the way) Character Design variant hasn't gotten a little more heat.
Maybe I'm looking at this wrong, but the Character Design Variant seems under priced compared to the 1:40, especially in CGC 9.8 since there are actually MORE 1:40s out there currently.
1:40 - 350 Raw - 24 CGC 9.8
Current raw cost: $352
Current 9.8 cost: $516
1:20 - 700ish Raw - 16 CGC 9.8
Current raw cost: $31
Current 9.8 cost: $124
What do you guys think?

Rarity and its prestige to the collector. The price progression isn't geometric, it's exponential. Collectors want he hardest one to find, not the second hardest one to find, and that's reflected in the final sales figures.jasont215 wrote:What do you guys think?

Re: Divinity #1 price/sales tracking
The CGC Registry does not yet have competitive Divinity sets available. Once they do, collectors will begin to identify their collection shot-falls. and see to fill the gaps. Once this occurs, there will be an increase in the secondary issue demand (e.g. all other issues besides LaRosa variants) that will gradually increase market value for each until the market stabilizes a few months to a year later.jasont215 wrote:I'm surprised the #1 1:20 or 1:25 (which is it by the way) Character Design variant hasn't gotten a little more heat.

elements on stage. I've scored some amazing hook-ups by NOT focusing on the girl in the room who appears to be a 10, but by going for her friend(s) that are in the 8-9 range.

To be fair, DBS got that from John Nash.

This is what happens when I take a year off from Valiants.
I'm still bagging and boarding books I got for cheap back in 2012.
Time moves slowly in the Oldjello household.

Re: Divinity #1 price/sales tracking
Confirmed that a private sale occurred this past week for a Divinity #3 (LaRosa 1:20) CGC 9.8 for $460. Not mine, but a fairly active seller that I deal with frequently.
As you may know, another copy sold on 27 Oct on eBay for right at $400. Last week a raw copy sold for $200.

Re: Divinity #1 price/sales tracking
I got the Divinity #2 1:30, as an early Christmas gift.
My girl did a damn good job, it's looking like a 9.8 candidate, if I ever decide to slabb it up, which, to be honest, I'd rather just trade up and pay the difference, to avoid the process, and heartache, if my copy came back less than 9.8.

I've got a CGC 9.8 #2 LaRosa, a raw copy, and two copies signed by Matt Kindt that are at CGC right now.agent_graves wrote:I got the Divinity #2 1:30, as an early Christmas gift.![]()

I'm keeping one of the CGC 9.8 SS copies of course, and will sell the others.

I submitted about 20 sum various Divinity books, and only 1 came back in 9.6, and one didn't clear a 9.8 prescreen (I am nearly certain they badly dinged the corner on their end - the book was pristine). From a submission standpoint, these guys are durable books.

I'm so anxious to receive my signed slabs of #1a. Anyone know the turnaround time for modern books?

It took five months for me to get back all those slabs I just sold. I submitted them at SDCC in early July. They told me it'd be four months but they were a month late. That's a long time to wait. If CGC is so backed up then they must be making enough money to hire more employees to help the situation.

That's the turn time I'm getting - 5 months, although it seems to be getting slightly better.

But at least they should arrive just in time for Divinity 2 in April.

It's not that I don't have an avatar... I've just been working on it for the last few hundred years.

Amazing. Makes sense though, given its scarcity and potential.

Re: Divinity #1 price/sales tracking
The first wave is back from CGC: I submitted 14 raw copies and 17 triple-signed copies of Divinity #1A. The unsigned books arrived today. A pretty good haul. Out of 14, 2 are graded at 9.6 and 12 at 9.8.
