Charity Auction for The Children's Defense Fund
The auction begins on Wednesday, September 21st and ends at 10pm Eastern on Wednesday, September 28th. The cutoff will be 9:59:59pm Eastern time. Bids received after that are void.
Auction proceeds will be donated to The Children's Defense Fund. It was selected in a poll by forum members and is highly rated by Consumer Reports for making sure the money goes to the achieving the goal.
Greg Holland (board owner and moderator) will serve as the steward of the auction proceeds. Winners will remit payment via PayPal: greg@valiantfans.com Please wait until the winning bid is confirmed before sending money.
Please post your bids here in this thread. PM offers will not be honored for transparency. Clearly state the Lot number and dollar amount of your bid. In the event of any dispute, Greg Holland will be the final arbiter.
ALL BIDS MUST BE IN A NEW POST. EDITED BIDS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
Items will be shipped directly from the donor to the winner. Donors may choose to include free shipping or charge a shipping fee (flat fee, insured, international terms, etc). ValiantFans.com, myself and all donors are not responsible for the condition of the received item. If the item arrives damaged in any way, take it up with the shipper. All auction items are received "as is", there will be no returns or refunds. Hey, it's a charity auction. Donors, please pack items well.
Auction winners will be expected to pay for the item within 72 hours of confirmation via PayPal. In the event it is not paid for in the allotted time, the second highest bid will be declared the winner. There will be no exceptions to this rule.
Note that there is a timestamp at the top right of the board which now displays seconds (thanks, Greg!). Use that as you see fit, snipers.
Okay, now that all of the legal stuff is out of the way, let's have some fun and bid on great items.
Here's a pic from the Children's Defense Fund website, just for a little inspiration.

Lot #14: Never-released VEI Promo Trading Card
Contributed by cmixer
Donor's note: In 2013, these were intended to be distributed at the Heroes Convention (Charlotte, NC). It became apparent the card set would not be made, as described on the promo. (Instead, only 500 preview packs were ever produced).
So the promos were pulled from distribution; and very very few ever surfaced (maybe less than 20 copies). None are currently on eBay (live or completed auction).

ALL BIDS MUST BE IN A NEW POST. EDITED BIDS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
If you make a mistake when posting, simply nuke the post by editing it with a note stating such and post again in a new post.
If you hit Ctrl-F, it will allow you to search a page for text. You could enter "12" and cycle through all of the occurrences of that string on the page. Perhaps that will help locate Lot bids.
I may attempt to keep some kind of a daily update as to highest bid but since I cannot update in real-time, this is strictly unofficial. To find the highest bid for a given lot, please search below.
As of 10:00pm on 9/28:
Lot #1: Bloodshot: Reborn #10 (LaRosa 1:50 Variant) CBCS 9.8 SS (3x Signed) $190 jaden_sai

If there are no objections, I will volunteer to increase my winning bid on Lot #12 by $5 to make it an even $1,000.
I just did a quick run through to confirm Lot winners (you guys got some great deals!) and have noted them here. If you feel that I have indicated the winning bidder incorrectly, please bring it to my attention asap. I will double check tomorrow and if there are no corrections to be made, begin sending confirmations and payment info via PM.
And thank you all, once again, for participating in this endeavor.
