Harbinger Renegade #0 - Solomon unleashes horror on NOV 8

Well it's conclusive guys... I just asked Dinesh on Twitter if Renegade is going on another break and he said yes. I'm on my phone right now so I don't have a screenshot but you can easily see his reply on His Twitter page.

Looking at the Valiant website, it reads as though there is going to be a six month break! WTF! between Harbinger Renegade 0 in November and HWII starting in May - surely not...

Woah, what? Seriously? What makes you think this? I had heard somewhere that Renegade wouldn't have any more delays until after HW2. If that's not the case, I am not okay with this in the slightest. I'm seriously loving Roberts' Harbinger, but it's been a year and almost nothing has happened! If that is how they're going to hype HW2... Well, I just don't think it's a good idea.

EDIT: Okay, I just read the Renegade 0 article on their official website. I'm hoping the wording was just a way to hype HW2 some more.

I don't think the article suggests anything specifically.

Valiant needs to keep the momentum up. There has got to be something else between NOV and MAY. Otherwise, why release the H:R #0 issue in NOV and not right in the middle of a 6-month hiatus? There will be more!

True, the website doesn't explicitly say there's another hiatus but to me, it seems that way. I hope I am wrong. I don't get why they would want to halt the momentum leading into HWII. I quite enjoyed #1-4 but I trade waited for it, I'd be 100% invested in floppies if I knew this were a monthly title.

Also remember, VEI has to get the rest of the universe back to Earth, and fighting the same fight. We have Ninjak and Bloodshot starting up, they have to begin their books, then find a way to get involved with the overall story. We will be at the 1 year mark with XO Manowar, and it has been stated that he will be returning to Earth about that time.

Bottom line, this all needs to gradually spin towards each other, on a collision course.

Yup. The break doesn't surprise me, nor do I mind it all that much. They only print six or seven titles a month now and there's a lot of other stuff in the pipeline.

Well then they should've called it "Harbinger Wars 2 Prelude" because this doesn't feel like a Harbinger title. First of all, adding one Harbinger book for more than 5 months at a time is really not that much to ask for. The Renegades are tentpole characters imo, they deserve just as much attention as every other mainstay, and they're integral to Valiant's biggest event ever.
Secondly, It feels like a collection of back-up stories for HW2. Personally, I don't think that's a bad thing, but taking another break is going to destroy whatever momentum they've built up so far. Renegade should be about the continuing adventures of the Renegades, Solomon, and the rest of the Psiot characters, and along the way it should tie-in and get us hyped for HW2. Focusing on "the road to HW2" is fun and all, but there has to be a reason to read the story besides simply infinite build-up.

EDIT: Also... CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. We know almost literally nothing about the Alpha, Solomon, Jay, or Tamara and it's been 6 issues and about a year year. Think about the multitude of characters that Dysart fleshed out within just a year... Pete, Kris, Faith, Torque, Flamingo, Harada, Tull, Joe, Livewire, Chronus, Telic, Animalia, Kozol, Stronghold, Darpan, Bleeding Monk, Ingrid, Palmer, and I could probably think of a few more if I tried hard enough. All of these characters are incredibly interesting and feel like actual people, whereas I just feel like I'm begging and pleading for more stuff to sink my teeth into in Renegade.

It'd be interesting to note if the titles that go on hiatus suffer a sales slump as apposed to those which are published monthly (though we're getting fewer of those these days). Personally, I like getting a comic each month of my favorite title, if it's an arc then hiatus type set up, I trade wait (either way Valiant gets my $ but I'd rather the month-to-month floppies).

To say I've been preoccupied lately is putting it lightly; so, someone remind me - what was the comic that we all had to send tokens in for that came from the Harbinger Renegades #1-#4 issues? I thought that was Harbinger Renegade #0 but I guess my memory is off. What was that comic again?
