Re: What video game are you currently playing?
I have a save game running at my brother's place at the moment (as I don't have a PS4) on The Evil Within and it's a lot of fun. I'm a massive wussy when it comes to anything even remotely scary in games and so this game presents moments where it literally has me sitting there going "I don't want to do this! I'll die if I do!"... But you have no choice, so eventually I have to man up and shoot the guy with the chainsaw free, lure him over to the barn door and get him to smash it by evading his attack at the last moment so that I can get out of the barn... Which is cool. And I guess in that respect the game also forces you to think about how to solve puzzles and evade enemies efficiently as well, so it's better than a straight up run-and-gun affair.grendeljd wrote:Sounds really cool! Might have to try that one someday.lorddunlow wrote:Still working thorugh ALien Isolation, but I bought The Evil Within (the first one) when it went on sale for Halloween. That game is horrific. It wastes zero time in getting to the point and the point is "holy crap what have I gotten myself into".
Literally, the setup is a cutscene in the cop car to set up the scenario. Then you get control of your character and walk into the crime scene - bodies everywhere - mutilated. As soon as you interact with the first thing you can interact with the crazy stuff starts happening and it's all downhill from there. This game has me hooked already.

Getting set to play Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty. I waited till I had all three Starcraft 2s before starting it. Finally ready. Just in time for the first part to go free.

My wife and I are wrapping up the secret bosses on a 100% Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep playthrough (our first).
This is one of the greatest games I've ever played. Had me tear up numerous times. Such a good story.
I can't believe it was only available on PSP at first. I owned it for that console, but never played it.

After playing ME Andromeda awhile back, I decided to start the original trilogy over again. Just about to finish up ME3 (makes me wish for more Mass Effect now).

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
Further, I did purchase FF XII: Zodiac Age, for the PS4. I will get to that sometime next year. I want to compare the two versions.
Anyone have any RPG suggestions for the PS3 and 4?

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
I've completed 3 of the 4 chapters in Shadow of War... and I think that's as far as I'm going to go. Reason being (and I'll throw up Spoilers for anyone who'd rather not know) that...
The story point of the game wraps after Chapter 3. Chapter 4 (i.e. The Shadow Wars) is solely reserved for 10 levels of increasingly difficult Fortress defense, where you defend the fortresses you captured during Chapter 2 against waves of enemies led by high-leveled Captains. And the very first level is EXTREMELY difficult. So much so that the remainder of the game appears to be massive uber-grind in order to level up your defenders to have a chance to compete. And if you lose a level, then it results in, effectively, two steps back for your continued grind.
So yeah, that's why I think I'm done. Moving on to South Park: The Fractured But Whole. I'm also still playing WWE 2k18 off and on. Trying to run a Universe Mode made up entirely of the classic wrestlers in the game. Old School HBK just beat 80s Sting for the World Title. 80s Macho Man just beat WWF Dusty Rhodes for the Intercontinental Title. The Von Erichs are Tag Team Champs, but are facing a threat to their reign from The Outsiders.

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
So, we're cleaning up the side quests of Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance to get the platinum. We ran through the entire Kingdom Hearts series on the HD remaster discs (1.5, 2.5, and 2.8). We have been hardcore Kingdom Hearts fans since the first iteration, but we had stopped playing after Kingdom Hearts 2 for a few reasons: med school/residency for me, grad school/work for wife; handheld games for everything after KH2, we had a child who is now 7.
The remasters made it simple. The story is amazing. Played all as one huge massive story made all the disparate pieces fit perfectly. The PSP game Birth by Sleep, which I thought was just a throwaway game, has become my favorite of all of them and it doesn't even revolve around the characters of the main story.
Can't wait to see Kingdom Hearts 3 this year! I would have been clueless had we not played through the other games.

Re: What video game are you currently playing?
Well, I succumbed to an impulse buy urge (something I was trying to avoid this year... nice job) and bought Monster Hunter World. Holy hell... there is a lot to do in this game. This one may take awhile to finish.
Still working on South park and my WWE 2k18 Universe, as well. Shawn Michaels is still champ, but in a heated feud with Greg "the Hammer" Valentine. Ricky Steamboat defeated the Macho Man for the IC title, and the Fabulous Freebirds defeated The Outsiders for the tag titles at WrestleMania.
