Episode 3 - XO’s sword
Episodes 4 - Shadowman

This series has been superb!

Really hope all episodes become accessible and in one place (YouTube) so newbies and reviewers can be directed there. :hope:

Overall, I have seen worse. Much worse. Roku is definitely a lowpoint and the green ranger is probably the high point.

I think the kid in the Archer costume thinks he is playing Barney Rubble.

This version of Gilad has a little too much vaguely eastern sensei going on, with the whole "a warrior is this" and "a warrior does that" schtick.

Caught recent OTV, Chiclo still hittin em with them brainiac rants! Love it! :thumb:

Back on subject, really loving this web-series. It's going to be a real loss for VEI/DMG if they don't allow Bat In The Sun to put on their youtube page, cross-promotion like this is priceless. Look at all the audience Jason David Frank/Power Rangers fans being brought in by this..I'm really hoping for a DVD with behind the scenes, outtakes, bloopers, commentary! Cover gallery! Till then, i'll make my own! :cloud9:

Got it running smooth. Looks amazing.
Maybe not cinema quality ~ but maybe thats my old laptop. Really impressed, Shadowman was great, some lines abit stiff, from ninjak ~ but far better quality than the marvel show on tv ~shield.

Is their any way to store the film? Has that been asked before, eariler in ther thread?
Been mega busy, and not been online much, only sstarted watching it today ~ not read full thread.
Even now, 2300, have more work to do.
I wish their was a Spinal Tap comic, and I had a copy CGC graded at 11.

I have heard from several people behind the scenes that yes Mintz is trying (going to) bury this thing once it's all out. So enjoy it we may never see it again.

WTF. This guy isn't doing any favours for himself as the new face of Valiant. He doesn't seem to give a crap about the actual existing Valiant fanbase. I know that movies are a much bigger money pool than comics, but why be an *SQUEE* to the ones who are already behind supporting the properties? facepalm :!:

Alright - just watched episode 2... this continues to be a ton of fun to watch! I think JDF is pretty fantastic as Bloodshot. The fx are still far better than I was expecting to see for this. I can't fathom why people are criticizing this series unless they just aren't trying to get their expectations in line with reality. With the exception of Roku, who is coming off as really cheesy, unfortunately.

I sincerely hope someone finds a way to get a copy of this saved before it is removed. We need to preserve it for the Valiant history books!

Ok, even without a fight scene, episode 4 might have been the best so far!

With the one exception of Gilad's actor, I think everyone else is just fantastic. And although Shadowman's costume definitely wasn't great, the actor was. His voice was perfect.

I'm surprisingly starting to get invested in the plot, which I honestly thought would never happen.

Annnnd episode 3 rocked too!

Considering they had to make the XO suit out of coloured fabric for the gold parts, I think its really a sharp looking costume - the blue armour bits look great & that cg when the helmet came off was really quite fair. The green energy blasts & the flame sword both looked fantastic. And they did a really good job of animating him flying in the air too.

So the dialogue & scenarios are generally kinda cheesy in places [to quote Greg, Roku is 0/3 at this point], but I think its all basically done in service to getting a fun fight scene put together, and these guys are rocking that element. It really is a thrill to see these characters on screen like this, even if the story continuity is a mash-up of various stuff from the comics that can feel forced.

These episodes are so short, I really don't expect to see smooth adaptations of actual plots from the comics here. Its just good clean fun to see & hear nods to things we know so much about from the comics. :thumb: :thumb:

I have loved every episode so far. I cannot fathom a VEI executive pulling this from the Internet. Why bother when it is just in itself, bringing "eyes" to their IP's.

The fight scene between Ninjak's "foes" have been epic.

I'd call it a series between what you'd see on CW and leaching towards film.

Cannot wait for Ep 05

Agreed - just watched it and enjoyed it too. Shadowman was pretty cool. I think all the actors have been chosen very well in terms of appearance for their respective characters, and most are capturing good elements of their characters.

I thought the story elements & acting were better all through this one. For the sake of advancing a fast story like this, I thought it was a cool plot idea that Bloodshot would have sensed the nanites in Colin, & tried to kill him to send him over to the deadside, or nearly killed him to make it easier for him to crossover so that Shadowman could find out the truth from him. :thumb:

Please correct me if I'm mis-remembering, but I recall something being mentioned in a thread when DMG recently completed its takeover of Valiant; that the original deal (back when DMG initially came onboard) was that Valiant had to bring in another big money investor to purchase the remaining 40%(?) or DMG would have the right to purchase the rest of the company.

Dino puts together the BitS series as a way to attract additional money. DMG doesn't like this because they want it all. So they manage to throw some legal monkey wrench into the works to delay the production for over a year.

Time passes, DMG completes the purchase. But the production is now complete. DMG knows the fanbase is waiting for this and doesn't wanna spook us more than they already have. So now that it's no longer a threat, they agree to a limited release to appease us. But they don't want this floating around on YouTube because it's not their baby and they fear it could hurt the brand (for whatever reason).

Can anyone corroborate my initial assertion about an additional investor? Or do I have this all wrong?

I just finished seeing the 2nd one and i'll have to admit one thing:
THIS WAS AWESOME.

Ok, why such an improvement?
Less Roku and Gilad (NOTHING against these actors, I just don't feel their take on the characters, so far), AND A FREAKING AWESOME Bloodshot vs Ninjak fight.

I still do not think that the Power Ranger guy has the voice (or voice FX, really) I hear in my mind when reading Bloodshot, but F***, HOMEBOY CAN FIGHT!!!! Loved the whole sequence, that's the s*** I love most about BitS stuff- the fightings are, most of the times, at the same level if not better than official licensed movies or series. I am being super-serious here- they nailed what a Blodshot vs Ninjak fight would bein my mind. Ninjak getting humour lines at the end worked better, not so forced. I liked the guy way more in this ep. Waay more.

And I still think they nailed Livewire for life (this lady is solid acting and looks the part like a glove) and that Capshaw is damn spot on Capshaw, 'cept Xo Man Of War :? which might be explained later, have no idea.

Editing also- HUGE, HUUUUUUUUGE improvement, the pace was right on and I never felt the scenes dragging and somewhat lost like in the first 5 minutes of the debut. It hurt the actors work in the first ep, specially Bloodshot. I liked Bloodshot here, only prob I find (and its a peeve, personal and minor as personal and minor gets) is the voice which should sound more inhuman, imho. But I liked it, honest.

Hope this counts as constructive criticism  - and I hope to enjoy the next eps at least as much as I did this one.

They should re-edit the first episode, cut some needless stuff and whatnot.
That said, if this was all about showing the characters in action for a few hardcore fans and their possibilities in big-budget, so far so good.

So, from the heart:
