In classic Valiants, where was Armstrong in 4002 AD?

Post by Oxmyx »

This is my very first post, here. Which is ironic because I have been buying stacks of Valiant comics since 2012 of both old and new. I have a respectable collection, but nothing impressive. And I like message boards ever since the CCG game company Decipher back in the 90s.

I owe my "discovery" of this website to my "discovery" of the OTV podcast, and especially the Greg Holland interview.

I have many more topics to post about, but I think this is my most pressing curiosity.

The last mention I heard of Armstrong is that he was in the Lost Land during a Turok comic (he did not appear himself)
I've been looking everywhere for the ultra-rare Turok vs Blister issue. Anybody able to help me out?

He was in some Magnus issues, mainly with Magnus' son Torque. The story was called "The Geomancer quest" and ran from issue 43 to 46 (with Armstrong in 44 to 46, including cover of 44).

What's some good OTD episodes to start ? I never heard of them before.

The white-haired dude on Magnus 44 is Armstrong???
I'd seen that cover in a $1 bin, and would have grabbed it if I had known. I do now. Thanks!

For the OTV podcast, Only the Valiant, I am not sure what to recommend. I really enjoyed the first episodes and especially the WHO WOULD WIN discussions. But the CURSE OF VALIANT episode was the most informative for me myself, plus the Top 5 episode. Make note there seems to be two podcasts on the same channel, and currently OTV itself is not producing many episodes

I think technically it is 4020 or thereabouts when we see Armstrong. He was living on Druid's Rock under the name Buzzy. I want to say he was confused as to his identity?

I think the best OTV episodes are the two-part Unity episodes.

Exactly, he'd been psycho-probed a couple of hundred years before.

Must listen OTV episodes are:

Valiant After Dark
Who would win steel cage
Dysart on Harby
V-Ditti on X-O
Desert island reads

And our review of X-O #5. There was so much joy in our voices.

Elveen, is the "who would win" episode the same one I've heard, one of the first episodes pretty much pre-Dinesh?
Do you have an episode number for the VDitti interview episode on XO? I'd enjoy that. I enjoyed the James Asmus interview for the Deliquents Release Party
