Looking to get into that next tier with Boom, IDW, Darkhorse, Dynamite and Titan with a combo of original, creator owned, and licensed properties as well as cross-platform entertainment.

Forbes also discussed this at:

Forbes comments on our "shrinking" hobby. This reinforces my belief that many of our "collectible" comics will not have any one interested in them in the future.

Are you thinking what I’m thinking?
—about a possible future Valiant & Dynamite merger—
No, No, I lied. I wasn’t really thinking about that either

I am really enjoying the Lion Forge catalyst books, but I am fully aware their monthly sales are dismal (so I hope they are doing better through trades). This news combined with poor monthly sales made me a little concerned to be honest.
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

Re: Oni Press and Lion Forge to Merge
When I went to conventions in the 80s, there would always be a handful of vendors in the dealers room that sold only pulp magazines from the early 20th century. There were a good number of writers, editors, etc. that had a good amount of experience at both. I saw legendary DC-editor Julius Schwartz talk a number of times about his experiences in both fields. I don't know when the last time I saw a pulp-only vendor at a con. I think the collectors of those got old, and there weren't enough replacement fans to keep up that hobby.tarheelmarine wrote:Forbes also discussed this at:

That's my worry for this hobby as well.kjjohanson wrote:When I went to conventions in the 80s, there would always be a handful of vendors in the dealers room that sold only pulp magazines from the early 20th century. I wish their was a Spinal Tap comic, and I had a copy CGC graded at 11.

Real world explanation: parent company that owns Lionforge bought Oni for their book market distribution deal which Lionforge does not have, and for their PR dept.

Re: Oni Press and Lion Forge to Merge
So then this would be good for Lionforge’s distribution, like reaching more retailers/stores/markets?paradise wrote:Real world explanation: parent company that owns Lionforge bought Oni for their book market distribution deal which Lionforge does not have, and for their PR dept.
Just saw IDW is announcing on Friday its bringing an established publisher into its fold. Any idea who that is?
