Looking for opinions on VH-1 X-O and Solar after the Chaos Effect
Hi guys,
I am aware that VH-1 basically went sideways in terms of overall quality after the Chaos Effect crossover. But since I have really enjoyed the halcyon days of early Valiant I figure perhaps the big guns are worth some time and $
All opinions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Solar was interesting when it was reimagined for Acclaim. There are just 6 Solar books under Acclaim: Solar #1-#4, Revelations, and Man of the Atom.havok1977 wrote: Thu Oct 29, 2020 5:26 pm Hi guys,

There's a Solar-similar character in current Valiant called Divinity. A neat twist on the Solar concepts, like an "Elseworlds Solar" but it still feels very familiar.
X-O Manowar was really good when it rebooted in 2012 through #50. Additional X-O Manowar stories since then have been "a little off" compared to the Robert Venditti stories, mainly because they were set on another planet and we get a John Carter vibe instead of feeling like X-O.

Thanks, yeah I have been reading and enjoying pretty much of the Valiant universe since the 2012 relaunch, including Divinity, X-O, and the rest of the gang.greg wrote: Fri Oct 30, 2020 11:26 am

But I think I didnt fully explain myself, I wanted to know if anyone here remembers how the tail end of the mid 1990s was for Solar and X-O (say issue 40+)

Solar had a few good issues later in the run. X-O didn’t.havok1977 wrote: Fri Oct 30, 2020 11:47 amThanks, yeah I have been reading and enjoying pretty much of the Valiant universe since the 2012 relaunch, including Divinity, X-O, and the rest of the gang.greg wrote: Fri Oct 30, 2020 11:26 am

The later Magnus was not as good as earlier storylines but was better than most of the other titles that Valiant/Akklaim was putting out at the time.

Thanks for that, I'll be on the lookout for those Magnus issues in the dollar bins.Chiclo wrote: Fri Oct 30, 2020 4:17 pmThe later Magnus was not as good as earlier storylines but was better than most of the other titles that Valiant/Akklaim was putting out at the time.
