Shadowman #2 Preorder Edition
Hey, can anybody tell me if this was published?
My LCS didn't get it, the shop where I get the BAD IDEA books doesn't have it either, and I can't find it on ebay (though I didn't look really hard).

The essay is about real world blights in Arizona -- a ghost town called Vulture City -- and the character bio is about Baron Samedi and how Bunn wanted him to be dressed like and look alike Jimi Hendrix. There's also something about the ghostly woman in the Deadside Offerings section.

So it exists. Nice to know. Where did you get it, and if you're from Germany: Wo wohnst du denn in Deutschland? I live in Bremen.

It certainly does....gynta wrote: Tue Jun 15, 2021 1:42 pm So it exists. Nice to know. Where did you get it, and if you're from Germany: Wo wohnst du denn in Deutschland? I live in Bremen.

Pre-ordered through my LCS -- Alias Comics in Cologne.
They don't have any extras for any Valiant titles though.
I guess, we're both getting our BAD IDEA stuff from the Comicroom Hamburg then. They're just a footstep away from Bremen. Lucky you!

I had a professor in college from Bremen. I heard her speak German once and it flowed like a river, almost sounded un-German. At the time, I thought maybe this was the Low German I had always heard was different from High German but now that I am more familiar with Dutch and have heard Mennonites speaking in Plattdütsch, I am certain it was Hochdeutsch that she was speaking. I have always wondered if that was an example of how they spoke German in Bremen? Maybe a Danish influence? Danish is a bit like singing French words to a German song.

I'm impressed! This forum is one of the last places I expected to come across the word 'Plattdütsch'. I grew up near the dutch border in Germany, and Plattdütsch was the first language I learned, years before normal german, Hochdeutsch. Later I learned to speak dutch (from the dutch TV), english and a bit latin in school. The people here in Bremen talk a normal german, maybe a bit broader than somewhere else. There are people here that talk plattdütsch, but that are mostly old folks.Chiclo wrote: Wed Jun 16, 2021 9:23 am

One can speak german more flowing, and it doesn't have to sound as hard as some people think ...
Sorry, I'm not a musician. I've been a DJ for 15 years and am still interested in music, just not as much as I was in those days.

Yes, I order the BAD IDEA books from the Comicroom in Hamburg, but I've never been there. All I know is that Norbert, the owner of the Comicroom, was a customer of my LCS here in Bremen, the Comic Café, before he opened up his own comic shop. Maybe I'll visit the shop when I'm in Hanburg sometime.Sunlight on Snow wrote: Wed Jun 16, 2021 5:54 am I guess, we're both getting our BAD IDEA stuff from the Comicroom Hamburg then. I guess I'll have to search ebay for a copy of the Shadowman #2 preorder edition.

And four days later the book finally arrived at my LCS. Why it took so long? I don't know. Jan (the owner of my LCS) always tells me the Preorder Editions don't have individual order numbers so it's harder for the shop where he gets his books from to assign these books to a customer. Jan understand why I order the Preorder Editions, but he hates them for the way they are distributed. Not comic-shop-friendly.

Good for you. I'm still missing a handful of books as well. Diamond has just been even more unreliable through these troubled times and it will get even worse once they will have laid off more and more employees. Losing DC and Marvel (at least) domestically will take its toll for sure.gynta wrote: Mon Jun 21, 2021 2:41 pm And four days later the book finally arrived at my LCS. Why it took so long? PO Editions are like variants and incentives. Of course, it's extra work but that's their (LCS) job.
At least, Valiant's PO Editions can be easily distinguished as such: Valiant logo + yellow box ==> PO Editions!
