Any chance of getting pre-unity books at 9.8 for a reasonable price is dwindling. I have a better chance sending in books myself and waiting.

I'm watchin them in my Ebay auctions.
Harbinger #7 is my favorite cover... so I may be bidding if the price stays right. Just an FYI. I wont get into a bidding war if another member seriously wants it.

Nice books 8-) ...nice grab Rico :thumb: , I think that price to be fair actually, based upon the long-term equity prospects of the 9.8 book

And that's on TOP of the joy you'll have from simply owning it :cloud9:

just makes the $20-30 that the 9.6's go for look like a steal. at $25-30 for those early harby's you are paying for a NM copy and the slabbing...no real markup. Not bad for a 10+ year old comic.

Yeah I agree dawg, CGC 9.6 is the best bargain for most if not all valiants.

I had these two 9.8s in Chicago priced at less than what they just went for. It's unreal. Oh, I owe you guys a picture of the Valiant CGC set at the show...

You can check out this CGC thread for my con report...with pictures...

I agree too, but my hits on pre-screens go WAAAAAY up when I screen at 9.6. What will drive up the price of 9.6s are increasing raw prices....

Solar 4 and 10 are the only ones I do not have 9.8s in. They are both 9.6s. The price should have told you it was a 9.6... :-)

True, but I know many collectors (myself included) who will not buy a thing from Heritage Auctions :x add to that, the "vig" if you will, they charge the buyer for their service (10% on top of the book price I believe) :| You will often find, heritage books that sell for LESS than their similar brothers do on Ebay.

However, that example IS a drastic difference....time will tell :thumb:

why don't you buy from them? Something other than the 10% markup?

There are several things wrong with Heritage. They allow their employees to bid on items, which I dont like. They also seem to have some unholy alliance with the company that owns cgc. I also think that they charge both a buyer and seller's premium. Oh and when you bid online and win something you can mysteriously outbid by someone in bidding in person at a later date..sound like someone you want to do business with? Especially on high dollar stuff?

Yes, I agree with Dawg. Some very parculiar things have happened in their auctions that never really seem to clear up.
