Faith and Archer At Comic Con...

...find a box full of VALIANT back issues from VH 1.

Imagine that as the inciting incident of an otherwise average-looking story that opens with an otherwise grounded, down-to-Earth, premise of a couple going to comic con.

It would be a mystery. Where would it take them? What would they find when they got there?

Could it be revealed that Shooter was gifted with oracular but inexact prescience, thus only the Shooter era books are thought to be prescient?
