That would be mine. Of course, it would be the first post from after the database of the original was lost.

Found it. It was a post to confirm that it was possible to register and post. And to thank Greg. Seems to be the first post after Greg's welcome post. A perk of being in this timezone.

My first post was about trying to get the valiant rings and last year I finished getting four of them.

Looks like mine was June 2014 discussing Shadowman: End Times #3. I still think of myself as a newbie compared to most of you guys, but I guess I've been here for more than a decade now!

Thanks Greg for keeping this corner of the internet available for us!

Darn you're in Mexico, right? Were they silver or bronze? I accidentally dropped my first bronze xo in my coffee, and it ruined the instructions. I got my silver ninjak ring on eBay with esnipe and got the other silver x-o and bronze ninjak rings from a board member. :cloud9:

Also, that post just now was #8200 for me… I used to enjoy the days when people would celebrate hitting milestone post #’s around here :)

I haven’t been around as long as many of the OG guys here, but I think I made a pretty solid level of content contributions throughout a good chunk of my time - a definite highlight was during the years where I was a co-host on the OTV-VCR offshoot review podcast! Those were the days… :cloud9:

Here's my first post, from March 31, 2004:

"Just got my best Valiant deal of the past year:

Harbinger 1 (w/ coupon)
Armorines 0 (Fall Fling)
Unity 0 (Red)
Archer & Armstrong 0 (gold)
Unity 2000 preview
Unity 2000 2 (sealed)
Unity 2000 3

$50 total. Store owner knew what they were worth & even worked for Valiant back in the day. Plus, picked up 3 Eternal Warrior # 4s & a set of "The Visitor" from the quarter bins. Yea!"

Crazy to think this is more than 20 years ago now.

The store from which I bought those comics was Capital City Comics in Madison, Wisconsin - I was visiting because I was considering law school at Wisconsin.

Fast forward 6-7 months later: I was enrolled as a 1L at a different law school when I scored one of the copies of the first Valiant board project - the 50 copies of Magnus 0 signed by Jim Shooter.

I think this was my first post in My Valiant Story:

My Valiant Story...From Batman to Bloodshot and More
Post by mkb28 » Thu Dec 27, 2012 9:36 pm

Back in the early 90's I was collecting nothing but Batman titles. I was always curious/fascinated by some of the Valiant books (Bloodshot, X-O Manowar) but I never started to read or collect them. Batman was taking up all of my budget. I stopped collecting around 1997 or so when my first child was born. Now I have three kids between the ages of 8-14 and my old Batman collection was wasting away in my closet. I decided to divide up my comic books (5 long-boxes) to get them started on their own collection. I also began buying all of the "New 52" Batman titles for them and we have had a lot of fun piecing together the missing books from 1997 to 2011.

With my job, I get to travel throughout the midwest, so I get to visit some great comic book stores. In 2012 I noticed the Valiant re-launch and I picked up a copy of X-O Manowar #3 and I was hooked. I started collecting X-O and Bloodshot right away and then I decided to collect all of the new titles. What a great opportunity to collect an entire "Universe!" Harbinger is an awesome book too and I think my 14 year old son will love it. I have broadened my collection to include the old Valiant titles and I now have complete runs of X-O Manowar, Bloodshot, Harbinger, Eternal Warrior, Ninjak, Shadowman, Secret Weapons, Armorines, H.A.R.D. Corps, and I am putting the finishing touches on Rai. My goal is to collect all the old books of any new title that Valiant is launching today. It has been a blast to read the old issues before checking out the new title. Zach from Day Dream Comics in Iowa turned me on to this website and Squirrel, X-omatic, and SonicDan have all helped me piece together my collection. I am forever grateful and I look forward to the future with Valiant!
