How do you really think Bloodshot would have done had it not been for the pandemic?

Putting aside issues of adherence to the comic or that Bloodshot didn't have white skin all the time (things people that don't read comics know nothing about), how do you think audiences would have received it had they been able to go to the theater?

78% score by audiences on rotten tomatoes gives some indication. Also, the producer has said they were on track to get a sequel based on opening weekend predictions until the pandemic closed all cinemas. Another case of Valiant's bad luck striking.

If VH-1 Angelo Mortalli hadn't become Bloodshot he'd still be a Harbinger, though his ability was not triggered until after the nanites were injected into him.

What if Pete Stanchek had found Angelo BEFORE the Mafia sold him out to Project: Rising Spirit and activated his ability so he'd join the resistance against Harada and the Harbinger Foundation?

The movie had the right cast and make up to be a decent hit. I would say it did get some exposure simply because people wanted content and it was known as the movie that got squashed due to the pandemic.

And Eiza Gonzalez as KT. Damn. Talk about screen charisma. Everyone liked Wigans.

Was it a perfect movie? No, but it was a dream of mine. Some people want to see Batman. I want to see Valiant.

I liked it better than the Ninjak Vs series. Although I liked seeing so many of our favorite characters on the screen. It would be nice if we could get that on a DVD or something.

I was very lucky enough to be about one of 17 or so people to see a special pre-screening in Seattle. Not many of us braved the lockdown to see it, but it was immensely fun. I got a tshirt and some posters. I travel a lot and was in Virginia a few days later and stuck there until July.

I bought a crap ton of memorabilia around the release. Posters, and such. I have a large bus stop sized poster even. All of it was mailed to my apartment at the time. By the time I got to my apartment in July, there was a very large pile of comic packages my assistant assembled for me. Christmas in July.

I’ve seen it 3x. I’m due for another post-VEI viewing.

I've only seen it twice, heh. And I only recently watched Ninjak vs. It was good.

Impossible to say. Depends on whether it would have reached a critical mass of an audience.

The people I saw it with all liked it and would have recommended it, but I had the feeling they were happy to have seen it once and had no need to see it again (as I have done several times).

Had it gotten a momentum of people seing it and recommending it to others it could have done well.

No doubt.

It's unfortunate that it didn't become the kind of movie that became a hit during streaming. Likely because it came out too early during the pandemic and people had other concerns in mind at the time.
