So now is Alien not responsible anymore for DMG’s mistakes?

I wonder if this was planned, a consequence of Resurgence not living up to their expectations (though without knowing what their benchmark for success is it is impossible to determine what those expectations are), or a result of the woes Diamond's downfall has inflicted on the comic book industry.

No chance. She already started editing the announced next wave. This is a cost saving measure. They are circling the drain, this is just another nail.ManofTheAtom wrote: Sun Feb 09, 2025 4:54 pm I wonder if this was planned, a consequence of Resurgence not living up to their expectations (though without knowing what their benchmark for success is it is impossible to determine what those expectations are), or a result of the woes Diamond's downfall has inflicted on the comic book industry.

A lot of publishers are reeling after Diamond's collapse. Massive is throwing them a lifeline. Hopefully Alien will take it, or something that works for them if that doesn't.syzhang28 wrote: Mon Feb 10, 2025 11:33 amNo chance. She already started editing the announced next wave. Feel bad for Alien. I think they have made all good moves including ditching Hawkins just so you can further separate from the Antos learning tree.
There are just too many obstacles and previous bad choices. Shop owners have no faith in Valiant. Diamond bankrupt now. Resurgence just didn't do enough.

Agree with this but don't fool yourself if Alien didn't just get hit by the diamond bankruptcy Hawkins aka hack-ins would still be there. The Harbinger wrote: Tue Feb 11, 2025 2:22 pm Rip Bozo

Hallelujah! Lysa Hawkins made too many poor decisions on creators and and books were mostly trash. This decision is 18 months too late. She should have been out when Alien took over.
Will things improve? Time will tell but if Alien can’t get better talent and better editors then I’d rather no books than garbage. VEI’s legacy has taken enough damage since Dinesh was ousted.

Agree with this. Most evident with the new page from Planet Death that Dinesh just shared.Dallow Spicer1 wrote: Sat Feb 15, 2025 5:34 pm Hallelujah!
