Alien Books Reveals New Logo, Projects, Ahead Of San Diego Comic-Con 2025
Alien Books Reveals New Logo, Projects, Ahead Of San Diego Comic-Con 2025

As for the Valiant part of the equation, the X-O Manowar anthology mentioned above will head to Kickstarter for a hardcover edition, and feature new stories by: Shintaro Kago, Marc Guggenheim, Kevin Roditeli, Sylvain Runberg, Roberto Meli, Adriano Barone, Luca Blengino, Mike Baron, Alex Segura, Diego Agrimbau, Sean Lewis, Dan Abnett, Peter Milligan, Louis Southard, Derek Fridolfs, AJ Ampadu and many more. Kickstarter pledgers will also have the option to add on the previously announced X-O Manowar #0, Artist’s Edition and Facsimile Edition.
Alongside the anthology and an ashcan teasing the new reader-friendly Valiant Beyond line available at SDCC, Timarchi also revealed there’s an as-yet unannounced crossover coming between a Valiant character and “a mystery opponent from an iconic fighting game franchise.”
“I can’t say anything else about this crossover or I’ll get in trouble,” said Timarchi. “It’s something very unexpected but it also makes perfect sense for anyone who grew up in the 1990s as a fan of comics and video games to see these two brands collide.”

Not likely going by that description, unfortunately.a mystery opponent from an iconic fighting game franchise.
Not likely to be Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. Who's left, Killer Instinct?

All I know is that I keep telling you what's coming, you keep telling me I'm wrong. I keep being proved right. Meanwhile, man of the talking out of his atom says weird things, never gets anything right and just keeps moving. He couldn't be more wrong on this one.

Do we know that he is wrong? Several of your predictions proved to be true, given the benefit of time. MotA should be allowed the same opportunity.syzhang28 wrote: Wed Jul 30, 2025 5:57 pmI was not the one that said it. I don't know why they keep doing Kickstarters after how badly the Eternal Warrior one went. I'm not backing the current Harbinger one and won't back this X-O one either. Buying comics 6months to 2 years in advance just isn't my cup of tea unless it is something really cool and out of the ordinary like the Transformer or GI Joe box sets by Skybound.

Alien didn't do the one for Eternal Warrior, though.magnus20009 wrote: Wed Jul 30, 2025 9:07 pm I don't know why they keep doing Kickstarters after how badly the Eternal Warrior one went. He said Miller and Shooter would go back to VALIANT. That didn't happen.Chiclo wrote: Wed Jul 30, 2025 7:59 pmDo we know that he is wrong? Other predictions of his have panned out. I want to say his predictions had about a 40% rate of happening.
I hope you are wrong about crossing over with a fighting game but willing to give it time before saying you are wrong.

Another tip from your source?
Admit it, this would not be the dumbest thing they have done to Valiant recently.

Man of the Question. He made no claim; he made a guess. I don’t see how his guess is outlandish or unreasonable but I am not real familiar with video games, fighting games least of all. He started a thread asking what Mortal Kombat-like fatalities Valiant characters would have. He is trying to spur discussion.syzhang28 wrote: Thu Jul 31, 2025 9:32 amThe video game crossover over has been announced publicly by Valiant. He is speculating. He is not making claims about what Valiant will do, or rather, what will be done to the woe-beset name that Valiant has become. His guesses might be wrong but he is not claiming inside knowledge and that where the comparison fails between you and Man of the Speculation.
