x-o quicktime movie
hello all,
thought i'd share this with everyone on the boards. this is a link to a pitch concept a couple of friends and i put together back in '96 for valiant cd-rom comic books. it won the bid, but was later axed by acclaim. here is a look at what could have been the first and only cgi x-o. do keep in mind that this was done in 1996, and technology has improved vastly since. enjoy...

Wow! That was very well made. In '95 I worked for a company that had some rendering software and their best demos were not better. How long did it take to make?bernardchang wrote:hello all,

hey all,
i'm glad the overall responses have been positive! i remember we came late into the game as i found out through office chatter that some of the higher ups were considering producing these cdrom comics, and i had a couple of friends in miami who were starting up their own 3-d design studio, so we put this thing together in less than two weeks. this was probably one of the very last things i did while at valiant. well, my friends did most of the work, i just stood by and made comments.
we ended up beating out a bunch of other high end production studios and won the bid, only to have someone from acclaim cancel the project because they wanted to use some people inhouse. ultimately, i don't think anything came of it. shortly after this, fabian came in and cleaned house in terms of characters and the universe, and the rest was history.
obviously, i don't think a cdrom comic would sell today, but goes to show you how cool some of the characters look beyond the pages of a comic book. x-o would have, and still could, make a great video game.
