DC and Marvel Major storylines

Post by jordan silo »

We all know Marvel and DC are GREAT Competitors! But here is an interesting question that I was asked and wanted to relay it to everyone in the board!

If House of M is the counter attack story to Infinite Crisis and Avengers Disassemble is the opposition of Identity Crisis!

Crisis of infinite Earths is DC's! What was Marvel's of that time?

How about for ARMAGEDDON 2001?

Zero Hour is the sequel to ARMAGEDDON 2001 right?

For the Infinity saga for Marvel, what was DC's Saga?

Was there any other Major Storylines that are an impact to their universe that I failed to mention?

Let us all know!

Secret Wars was the answer to Crisis on Infinite Earths (or was that vice versa?).

Interestingly, the final issue of Secret War hit the stands at about the same time as issue #2 of Infinite Crisis, though it would just be pathetic to compare the two.

If Secret Wars came out a year before Crisis why would you even ask which was an "answer" to which?

Originally Perez and Wolfman were going to do a twelve issue miniseries called History of the DC Universe which would present the revamped DC history. It got changed to a 12 issue x-over (Crisis) and Wolfman and Perez ended putting out History of the DC Universe as a two parter afterwards. I don't recall why they made the change but I always assumed Secret Wars had something to with it.

Secret Wars II was Marvel's "answer" to Crisis (though it was also an answer to the high sales and dangling plotlines and possibly licensing deals from the first Secret Wars)

Zero Hour was marketed as a sequel to Crisis, though I dare you to find anybody at DC who will admit it now.

Infinity Gauntlet came out the same summer as DC's War of the Gods and both had Perez doing some sort of art on them. If I recall correctly this lead to delays on War of the Gods and Ron Lim taking over as artist fairly quickly on Infinity Gauntlet. EDIT: Armageddon 2001 came out that same year but it was just an x-over in the annuals not the traditional one that involved the monthly titles.

The year after that Marvel had Infinity War and DC, if I recall correctly sat out the monthly title x-over and just had the Eclipso x-over in their annuals.

Infinity Crusade (the last Infinity x-over) came out in 93. I think DC once agian stuck to the annual x-over and had Bloodlines.

1994 was when Zero Hour came out.
