Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

I don't even pretend to know that much about comics but how can even a cgc 9.8 go for that price?

Hey! Good luck John! Thanks for breakin the seal so to speak.

Dan, yes this is the book I got from you awhile back. I'd love to keep it but I need some cash at the moment and one trip to the post office is way better than 20 little trips if you know what I mean.

Supply and demand my friend. There are 2500 total of these books known, and only 4 at this grade. Although opinions vary there probably aren't a lot more around anywhere. So if a collector is hoping to finish off a 9.8 run or even have all the keys at 9.8, this auction will be your ONLY chance for a LOOONG time.

so lets say in fairy tale land i happen to have a bloodshot platinum graded a 9.8. That would obviously go for alot of money. What would any of you pay for it if you had the money.

If I remember correctly theres already one of those in existance. I personnally wouldn't buy the book because Bloodshot was not a faorite character of mine (ducking behind desk.....) I'm sure a book like that would bring a grand easily enough.

There's (I believe) 2 CGC9.8s out there. I've got 1 & the other sold for a little over $2,000 on e-bay a couple years ago.

Funny thing these key 9.8s...it seems that the first one to hit the market is the only one that will ever turn up...then a second turns up....then a couple more...all the time they keep getting rarer and rarer and more hyped and more hyped...I simply dont believe that these books are $1000 books in grade, but folks seem more than willing to drop the coin on them...

Greg moved the discussion to the Professionally Graded forum at my request. It did not belong here, as you noted. Thanks Greg.

What does 50 pence convert into in dollars? And no it is not a reprint. It is a variant.

I think a pence is like 5 pennies (or something to that effect). If that's the case the guy made a great purchase.
