i'd just like to point out i never said he's using it as an excuse. he never said "family comes first", i did. that's how i'd view the situation if i was in a similar position. i'm just relaying what i was told. i have no dealings in the works with him or claim to know all of what he owes anyone else. just passing on word that he's been heard from.

And just so there's no confusion: "some things in his life that are bigger than comics will ever be. without going into details, family comes first." is telling a customer that their concerns aren't important.

It's not for a seller to decide what IS and what is NOT important to a customer. Comics could be THE MOST important thing in a person's life. It's not the seller's...or anyone else's...place to dismiss what a customer values.

And the reality is: it's someone else's money that's involved, regardless of what it's for. Your family SHOULD be more important than your money, but your family IS NOT more important than MY money, and MY family is not more important than YOUR money...cause WITHOUT my customer's money, my family doesn't get fed.

That's not to say that people don't understand when life happens and things beyond control disrupt a situation....and just WHERE that line is is different for everyone, but the choice is the CUSTOMER'S....not the seller's. It's always the right of the CUSTOMER to decide how patient they'll be; it's INCREDIBLY inappropriate (there's that word again) to TELL a customer that "my life and my situations are more important than you and yours."

And I'll say this twice, so it's not missed, as that's often the case around here...that's not to say that people don't understand when life happens and things beyond control disrupt a situation....but it's not the responsibility of the CUSTOMER to just roll over and accept whatever situation a seller offers, no matter how unreasonable, and if they don't, they're being unfair.

That's the same line of logic that some people use to say "if you disagree with the President, you must not be a patriot."

"If you're concerned about your money, you must be an uncaring jerk."

It's incorrect there, and it's incorrect here.

Even if you DIE...you should still make sure your obligations are met. That's just what a man does.

I continue to be impressed by how little that means to some people.

i never said the situation wasn't out of hand. if i was in the same position as any of the people he owes stuff to, i'd be frustrated/angry/etc as well. i think it's rediculous. i've been packing things and mailing them almost every day for over a year, and know it's just a matter of effort. i know he should have gotten things squared away long before now.

i was just posting to let people know he had been heard from.

i can say that i can relate to his situation over the past three weeks which is what i'm looking at. because i was in a similar boat with the flats. his situation shouldn't be used as an excuse, but i know for a fact it doesn't help.
