Anyone tried Virgin Comics?

Everything else comic-related that's not VALIANT-related.

Anyone tried Virgin Comics?

Post by leonmallett »

Has anyone tried the new series from Virgin comics. Having read the first issues of all three initial series they don't feel like Marvel or DCU books, maybe a little Vertigo-esque or Vertigo-lite. The mythology also ahas a different feel to traditional US comics. Anyone else tried these?

So far we've had Devi 1 and 2, Sadhu 1 and Snakewoman 2 (although my comics for last week are still at my LCS so there may be another issue of Snakewoman).

I read the preview book given away at the chi con.
I applaud the concept, but I don't care about it. Probably won't be buying them unless something really fascinating happens with the universe.

Read 'em all... only like Devi out of them all.

Not too keen on the spreading of the Indian religion through comics but whatever floats yer boat.

The art in Devi was very nice, not consistent throughout but pretty enough to look at. Kind of reminds me of Witchblade though.

I felt Devi was in some ways the most comic-booky of the three. Sadhu was very...slow. I enjoy the premise of snakewoman (destined to kill all those nagas without knowing it).
