Post by cobra_commander »

Obviously there are a lot of things that people would change about VALIANT/ Acclaim post Unity (...ideally it didn't happen at all )...

But is there anything you would change about some of the best comics that came out of all time - Pre Unity VALIANT?

I was going to say I wish Solar Alpha and Omega was done in its own issues in the regular series but thinking about it again it would've spoiled the momentum of the book. So I can't really think of anything.

It may not be a story line thing either, it may be superficial like more gatefold covers (ha!)

BTW list anything you would change about the UNITY story line as well, I just didn't have room to fit it into the title.

I don't like the covers at all.

(Edit)

I don't like the crossover covers.

The Unity #0 and #1 covers are great.

There's not really much I would consider changing. I think the pre-unity books are very good as-is.

Thats an EXCELLENT point, I forgot to mention that :!:

The Unity covers absolutely sucked (except 0 and 1)

My first choice for the covers would've been BWS

Some of the artwork was not exactly the greatest, but other than that I would keep it the same.

I wouldn't change a thing.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

Technically, that's a POST-Unity book. :)

And I don't mean to derail the thread, but I think Rai #0 was one of the best single issues Valiant ever published.
I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

What are you saying? The Miller covers were great. In fact, I would like the original art work for most them. The second artist wasn't so hot, but it was cool how all the covers came together to form a big pic (especially the Miller work with the hands).

Blech! As much as I am loathe to disagree with a fellow Tar Heel, I absolutely HATE these covers.

The Simonson's were a little better, but I'd still have liked to see BWS do all of them.

I for one am glad that the powers-that-were decided to concentrate on story and content rather than the shock value of dramatic covers and art. Interesting that the most well-known preunity cover, and perhaps the most famous Valiant cover period, is an image of nothing.....Solar 10.

If they weren't concerned with the shock of dramatic covers they wouldn't have brought outside artists in to do the covers.

Ummm... :?

Pre-Unity means BEFORE Unity.
Why are we discussing the Unity covers in this particular thread?

What to change about PreUnity/Unity? Too change perfection would be to make it less than would it not? Since I'm a Preunity Homer, I can't think of anything............................................except this:

If only it had never ended. :D

Hey this is ALL moot... the last issue of X-O proves that as well as takes down any conversation as to where the 'new owners' should start back up. There IS no 'where'... Aric predates EVERYTHING, so it... never... happened.

8-)
