Rozanski has been a big Shooter supporter since the beginning of Valiant (or before) and helped him get Defiant started after he was ousted from Valiant. And he was supportive of both Broadway and Daring. If there's anyone in comics you can believe when it comes to Shooter news, its Rozanski.cobra_commander wrote: Does anybody know how reliable Mile High Comics Newsletter is as a source?
This is just speculation on my part but I highly doubt Marvel, DC, or Image. Dark Horse is a definite possibility though. I hope he is able to develop his own new characters and universe (Daring maybe) or revitalize some forgotten classic characters like he did with Magnus and Solar.400yrs wrote: I think if Marvel, DC, or Dark Horse.... hell even Image... were to offer him something, he may be apt to go that direction because they are proven companies.

In 1991, it had been about 10 years since anyone had seen new comics from Magnus or Solar... and... Jim Shooter brought them back to life.Ryan wrote:... or revitalize some forgotten classic characters like he did with Magnus and Solar.

Well, Jim has had all this time to think about these opportunities. I'm pretty sure it's pretty well thought out. If he comes back to valiant, great! If not, I'm sure whatever he does will be great.
Besides, it was only a matter of time before people realized that he was extremely good at what he did, especially with the industry still struggling the way it is.
I just hope this time he gets the respect he deserves.

Interesting posts from start to finish....
I hope Jim does come back to VALIANT.....
I bleieve if Jim does come back that the VALIANT magic can happen again....
Jim might not come back....
there might be other offers.... even better offers.... but I've found some of my best decisions are ones that most people might advise me to not make... but for me.... it made sence....
some of the best decisions in history seemed "bad" at the time (IMJ is including his educational chops in his posts.... so I will follow suit)
what about a rag-tag bunch of colonies fighting a war against the un-dsisputed most powerful nation in the world...
we didn't have an army or a navy... they had the most powerful of both (at the time)
only 1/3 of our population supported the war....
our best militaty strategy was.... retreat!
our "army" was freezing and starving to death at Valley Forge.... our army had won basically nothing up until that time.... the British had just devasted the farmers that were calling themselves soldiers.... but they never gave up....
why...
one man, Gen Washington, held them together... he rode around every day... stoped and tallked with the farmers and shopkeepers.... telling them they could win the war....
you know what....
they believed him.... and they did win the war...... some of those very same soldiers who survived that winter at Valley Forge.... were at Yorktown as Cornwallis surrendered to Washington....
they could have and should have went home and gave up.... but instead they believed.....
I hope Jim does come back to VALIANT.....
sometimes the "best" deals are not the ones you take....

i think jim has the talent to bring it all back without the gold key characters and do it in such a way that would leave the possibility of them returning and do a great job at it.
as far a VE not being able to pull it off...how many of you thought anyone on these little ole boards could have purchased valiant in the first place???
i wouldn't rule out image contacting jim, i think that he and liefeld are at least a little tight. i could even see him going to dc-although i don't recognize a need over there for him to bring stuff back to life. marvel i would rule out.
maybe he'll team up with BWS again!!! and they could revamp rune!
that would be apple pie!

That's why I asked. As a shop they suck *SQUEE*Jay Tomio wrote:As a store Mile High is relibale to over-grading and over priced store, and having the worst customer service I have ever experienced, however, (from what I have read) they have been avid supporter of VALIANT and Shooter in general, both pushing and buying VALIANT early on, and this good news.

jcdenton wrote:Very interesting news from the latest Mile High Comics newsletter:
While I greatly enjoyed seeing the museum, I have to tell you that my two favorite moments were being able to see my friends Jim Shooter and also Helen Hamilton and her daughter Summer Hamilton. Seeing Jim was a particular delight, as our time together has been limited during the past couple of years. After stints at Marvel Comics (where he was Editor-in-Chief from 1978-1987), VALIANT (which he founded), Defiant (which he founded), and Broadway Comics (which he also founded) Jim disappeared from the comics industry. For nearly a decade now he's been working with a video game company in New York, writing scenarios for them and helping with their marketing. The incredibly exciting news that Jim brought to the museum opening, however, is that he's now being courted by several companies to rejoin the comics world. Given our decades of close friendship, Jim confided the details of these offers to me, and then asked me for my opinion as to which one he should most avidly pursue. Quite frankly, I couldn't pick one deal over another. They all sounded extremely promising, so I guess it's going to boil down to whom ever presents Jim with the best contract, the soonest. Suffice it to say, however, that I fully expect Jim Shooter to be back in the comics world very soon. That would be a wonderful development, as this industry could well benefit from once again having Jim Shooter's drive and talent.

Even if it isn't with a valiant revival, the industry overall WILL benefit from his return. Furthermore, whoever hires him had better have the good sense to hold on to him.

Re: Rozanski: Jim Shooter Returns?
Thats the most important point. Give Shooter time to develop ALL of his ideas.Second_Death wrote:Furthermore, whoever hires him had better have the good sense to hold on to him.
