No pic, What do we think?
There's A LOT of negative talk about this seller on the CGC boards.

Yup.

Interestingly enough, after his/her 'defense' post....Ryostar apparently disappeared from the boards....

Hmmmmm......

CGG is kind enough to put the 'graded date' on the label.

Notice, this one was graded '08/04'.

Who wants to bet it was graded in the past three days?
(And how would someone submit and receive a 9.8 in 3 days?)

Very interesting reading. I won't be buying his harby 1 9.8 even at the minimum bid now.

Quote from the boards:

I think that the line on this guy is that he is selling restored books as unrestored in cgg holders...anyone know who picked up his shadowman in 9.9? Maybe we could talk to them about it...
The line on cgg is that they grade tougher than cgc on moderns. If this books is not restored and is indeed graded tougher..a guick flip of this book to cgc could mean some serious coin. I wish that one of you guys would buy this book and submit it too cgc...I think that it would be a fun experiment...you might lose your shirt but you could do alright...
oh yeah and this guy has some ties to cgg some how...they are not supposed to be grading his books, but they, seemingly, still are.. I dont know...

That's a good idea Dawgy, let's see where the auction goes, it may sell for a higher amount than we think, I would probably experiment with what you said up to a certain amount. Could be a group experiment, let's watch the auction!

I think Greg summed it up. This guy is probably goood friends with the CGG head honcho. The concidence that this book sold near $1,000 and then ryostar just HAPPENED to have one posted a few days later is just too ridiculous. At this point I wouldn't doubt that he encapsulated it personally. :x

You all should do what you want, but I will be staying far far away. This book will be selling for $100 plus despite all the problems with this seller, and it's not worth the risk.

Please remember that this is ebay account points to TDcomix, and that this seller is supposedly not TDcomix. That should be enough right there.

Maybe he has a key to the CGG offices and slips in afterhours.

Did I say 'key'? I meant to say 'garage door opener'. :P

Actually...... My Rai #1 CGC 9.8 was sent in as a CGG 9.6. So who knows.

Well, $122.50 was a little to low to turn down. Risky! We'll see how it turns out. Can you say insurance and a USPS money order.

Well... it should be interesting.
$122.50 might be too high if it turns out to be 9.6 or lower...
but you never know. The scan looks great, but so do most 9.4s.
PLEASE keep us posted!

I guess we'll see how it goes. Even if it turns out to be a CGC 9.6, $122 isn't bad. I like a good gamble. Better odds than the lottery :D

True enough. Were you planning to "crack it out" of the CGG holder
before submitting to CGC?

Well, there are only two options...
Crack the book out and send it to CGC,
or submit it to CGC in the CGG holder.

Obviously, the first option is the more "scientific" of the two...
since CGC won't know that CGG has already had an opinion.

As a very experienced Harbinger #1 owner yourself,
you should be able to give us a fair opinion on the book
once it's in your hands anyway. :)
