Issues #3, 4, 5, and 6 are like this, and issues #7 and 8 have red lettering and grey lettering versions.

Finally, confirmation of the B+W uncut sheet. I know I saw a B+W uncut sheet back in the day, but had really been thinking I must have had it confused with the poster since one has not surfaced. Now it's clear there is a B&W version of these cards.
Thanks for posting. Of course, now I need a B&W uncut sheet.....
edit: For the record - I had it backwards. The color sheet is what I do nat have. I thought that one was uncommon.

I don't believe there was a black & white uncut sheet. I have the uncut version where the Magnus box is black (like the book on the left in Jedi's pic), but the cards are all still in color. The red box Magnus version I assumed was just for the poster. Apparently they have red box uncut card sheets as well? Thanks for the info Jedi!

This is what I'm thinking as well. My uncut sheet is just how you described and my poster of the uncut sheet has the red magnus logo. If they printed cards for the comic in red it would stand to reason that they may have ran off a few similar uncut red logo versions. That's only speculation though cause I've never heard of anyone laying claim to having one yet.Zero wrote:ckb wrote:Finally, confirmation of the B+W uncut sheet. What do you guys mean by "uncut sheet"? What would that look like? Just the sheets that weren't put into the comics?

Now, I have 10 of each (1-8) and it looks like the black version is the rare version.
So out of 80 books 10 were black the rest were red.
Any thoughts on why the change from black to red...Or was it a red to black change.
you have 10 sets of Mag #1-8

cool!

All of my issues are red. But if you look at the uncut B/W sheet it's grey.x-omatic wrote:You gonna post a picture of them?jedimarley wrote:Now, don't forget to check issues #1 and 2.

So..could their be a grey version of issues #1 and 2??

This is what I meant. I know the cards aren't in B&W, just the MRF logo. You have one of these, Zero?????Daniel Jackson wrote:Zero wrote:ckb wrote:Finally, confirmation of the B+W uncut sheet. I had it backwards, though, my sheet is B&W... I need a color one...

The uncut sheet that looks like the poster is rare in my view. Again, I've only seen like 10 uncut sheets, and only one looked like the poster. Now that could be coincidence. Jedi, are you sure about your count?? I see that you can tell from any of the issues, since there is red on the border areas as well. My uncut sheets & posters look like yours. I had never heard of a red box uncut sheet, but they must have made some by the looks of the book coupons. I need to dig my copies out & check them. ~Pete

Great find, Jedi!
Hmm...
How about this for an explanation... (LITERALLY JUST MAKING IT UP AS WE GO)
Maybe the original order for the Magnus cards was for the RED version, based upon expected comic sales.
Once it became obvious that they would need MORE cards (to put in the comics),
the second cardsheet order was for the BLACK version, to make up the difference.
There were leftover sheets of the BLACK uncut cards,
but no leftover sheets of the RED uncut cards because
the RED card sheets were used first in the comics,
and the BLACK sheets were not all used.
Because there were extras of the BLACK uncut sheets, they decided to sell some.
BLACK cards are "rarer" in the comics because fewer BLACK cards
were needed to make up the difference between the RED initial order
and the actual comic book orders.
The POSTER is RED because that was the original version of the cards,
and the plan for the poster likely followed the plan for the cardsheets.
If the poster had been reprinted, it likely would have been BLACK.
