Valiant Character Movies?
Has anybody heard of any movies that are being made or tried to make on these heros?

If we got a little funding together Boda was making a pretty cool XO video he might be able to finish with our help.
Far as a Valiant Movie I can see it happening if Dark Horse was on board.
Watching parts of "The Butterfly Effect" I got to thinking about Solar and how well, technically, a Valiant/Unity style movie could come to fruition. Just takes alot of time and money, the first of which we seem to be swimming in and comming up short in the other department.
Any script writers in the house? We could probably write an interesting movie but I don't think any of the stories could be properly illustrated without a sizable budget as it seems special effects would run rampant.

The Harbinger movie would be really hard to do, not impossible. You would have to rework a couple of events so that it didn't look like a charlie brown movie (all the peanuts movies appear to just be a string of mildly related comic strips). Harbinger would certainly work out better as a TV show.
Magnus: the only really doable story line is either the first 4 issues (and include backround informaton to make it longer than half an hour). The Malev line is too matrixy. Even the Steal Nation story line is too reminisent of A-I, and the other similar movies that came out at the same
time.
Solar, I just couldn't see as making a real good movie.
Turok...Jurasic park meets the Indian in the Cuburd?
X-O? Maybe if you made the movie more about the aliens than the Visgoth, he could still be the hero just a different angle of the story than the purely comic book one. I'd probably end this one after X-O 1 or 2.
An EW picture? multiple flash backs and forward of what would seem to the viewer as a reincarnated person experiencing many different similar things? If you had a realllly good writer on it.
Now lets do the rest:
Bloodshot doesn't have to be a "shoot-em-up" it would make a much better film if it was about him researching his origin. But then you met get called regarding other similar movies. Guy has amnesia, tries to find out what happened and it turns out that people want him dead. Of course this one is different because instead of just erasing his memory, they use him as a science experiment.--this one could actually come out pretty nice
Rai- maybe this is the magnus movie you could do- start it off with magnus and then he finds out that there is a large freewill robot that is running all of Japan that everybody knew about for 500 years, except him, and when he gets there he find the robot's gardian. Sound familiar? Could work but there is too little workable physics regarding the original Rai that might make people not like him. - B+
Archer/Armstrong--If you had a new story this could come out as a nice comedy.

(anybody else have fully developed opinions of what stories might work?)

I'd say X-O would be the best bet. Lots of action & plenty of potential for some great CG effects. They could basically film Issues #1 to #3, which would be a great story within itself.... kind of like what was done with Spiderman.
The visual effects alone would sell X-O. Imagine seeing the armor engulf Aric when he gives the "good skin come" command, or X-O blowing off a few spider alien heads with his ion cannons. Now imagine seeing this on the big screen with THX sound. Gives me goos bumps.
Bloodshot could be good IF (emphasis on IF) it was filmed right. It would have to be an atmoshperic film kind of like "The Crow" or "The Matrix". Something about that white skin, would look great with the right lighting & shadow play.... (picture Bloodshot filmed with the "green" Matrix like tint.)
Solar would flop unless it had an incredible script.
EW would make a better TV series than a movie.
Rai.... no way.
Magnus could be good with the right CG effects with the robots.
Shadowman..... has possibilities. It could work with the right combination of action & horror.
Turok.... no way.

Done right, I think that could be very cool. The comic did read kind of like a TV series, didn't it?BodaZoffa wrote:EW would make a better TV series than a movie.
For some reason I can only picture the VH2 Shadowman here. The first one just seems like it would be too campy in translation.BodaZoffa wrote:Shadowman..... has possibilities. It could work with the right combination of action & horror.
xo, shadowman, bloodshot. good, if done right. i think turok cold work, if done right. it is really unique enough. turok, shadowman, and xo are the most unique i would say. shadowman seems a bit batmanish, but it has the whole voodoo, spin, plus he doesnt have billions. xo...duh. turok, although people might think of the game, which wasnt close to the comic really.
