Overstreet Guide
Can anyone explain to me the new value tables in this year's Overstreet Gude. I sure can't figure it out. The top value is NM-(9.2). What does that make a brand new comic with no flaws, miscuts, fingerprints, etc., which is what I usually buy. How much of a percentage over the listed Overstreet value is supposed to be the value? For instance, Wolverine #1. This comic is fifteen+ years old now. I have a few that would have to be NM/M, either 9.6 or 9.8, even if it isn't in a CGC holder. I'm just not sure there is such a thing as a 10.0) It used to be that the NM (9.4) value listed was equal to the Mint value for books after the 1970's. But now, the top listed value is not even close, in terms of grading parameters, to what these books are. I couldn't find anyway in the guide to figure that out or maybe I just missed it in all that tiny print.

I couldn't find the thread but we discussed this in detail. They basically changed the value of every book in the guide by shifting the grade. For example book x was worth $z amount at 9.4 and now is worth $z amount in 9.2, thus the 9.4 price just went up. They did this based on the fact that CGC books usually sell for above NM guide at 9.4 or better.

What x-omatic said was all true. Just to add that Overstreet puts out a monthly market watch magazine/pamplet that list alot of the cgc 9.4 and higher sales from eBay, ComicLinks, Heritage and whatever. So why they did it because prices where selling well above guide, it was also a marketing ploy used to sell more monthly pamplets. I forgot how much it cost but the one time I purchased a copy from a LCS it was interesting enough to flip through and ponder but not good enough to subscribe for the cost.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info. Is there a percentage that the 9.4 grade equals relative to the 9.2 listed in Overstreet? In other words a 9.2 book in OPG is $100, what is a 9.4NM? What is a 9.6 - 9.8M? And I'm not talking about CGC prices, or is Overstreet giving up on ungraded Mint prices?
