Who's Hoarding What?
So with the talk lately of hoarding in a couple threads, it made me wonder who is hoarding what.
I know jedimarley is all about A&A 0, I think Chiclo mentioned a hoard of Unity 0's, but that's about it.
I don't really have enough of any one book to make it a "hoard". In general, Solar 1-10 is what I will buy and buy and buy, regardless of how many copies I already have, but I only have 4-6 copies of most of those issues.
What are folks hoarding? Why? How big is your hoard?

When we were planning to move from my last house we had a few garage sales....
I sold a long box to a grandpa for like $25.
it had multiple copies of Knightfall...... (like 3-5 of each one) and multiple copies of early-post unity Vals. , like 3-4 of most issues for about a 8 month time period.
I wish I had some of thoes issues back, I could have passed them out here.
As of right now, the only issues I have more than two of is Hard Corps #5. (I think I have 3-4).
Some day.... I want to begin horading.

I can understand the hoards of pre-U and Unity issues, my question is does anyone have an embarassing hoard. Some middle of the run extremely common book? I know that everyone is gonna get stuck with Magnus #25 or Rai #9 just because of the huge print runs. I am not intentionally hoarding it but I have mentioned that I ended up with 9 HARD Corps #7's, it is bad enough that I have considered it a "starter" hoard and am entertaining the idea of buying all of them that I can find just to see how many I can end up with, despite the fact that they will likely never have any value. So the question remains what is that one title that you have an insane amount of for no particular reason whether intentionally or by sheer accident?

BTW, I got all those when another board member whom I won't name (Zero) used them as packing material for a single comic he was sending me.ThrillKillWill wrote:You posted while I was writing my post, and managed to answer my question. I've got enough to cover a coffee table, but I need some more materials and time. And the rest I was going to do some kind of sick fan project, like get a homeless insane person to remark and sign the chromium cutouts.

Note to self: Avoid DePlutos fan project, at very least handle with latex gloves.Dr. Solar wrote:What kind of "mark" do you expect a homeless person to make?depluto wrote:...the rest I was going to do some kind of sick fan project, like get a homeless insane person to remark and sign the chromium cutouts.
It seems that there should be some sort of warning posted for new board members about receiving packages from other board members. I have only been here for a couple of months and if I remember correctly there was an issue about a comic that had some sort of hellacious odor, one that had the "mysterious hair" in the tape on the back of the bag, something about Hobojoe's pedigree, and now the homeless person "re-mark." Like I said this is only a few months of several years. Adds a new meaning to Buyer Beware.

I think I've still got a little more than 1,000 Turok 1s left over.depluto wrote:BTW, I got all those when another board member whom I won't name (Zero) used them as packing material for a single comic he was sending me.ThrillKillWill wrote:You posted while I was writing my post, and managed to answer my question. 'Pluto, I'll send you as many as you need. Just let me know...

I am not actively, nor ever was actively collecting that book. It's purely inadvertant that I have that many.

Yeah, I'll pick up any good deal. Like, any pre-Unity in NM or close to it from a quarter bin I do like the cover to Solar 14, and I have a few of those. I LOVE the first couple Magnus, and the zero. But, I don't intentionally hoard. I'd probably keep all the copies of X-O 1 I could find. I think I'm up to 5 now.
Other than that, the 40 or so Bloodshot 1's I have were dime books I picked up here and there.
