Has CGC ever damaged a comic while it was in their hands and had to fess-up to it? Seems that this would happen from time to time considering they've touched tens of thousands of books.

I remember some accusations on the cgc board about such things and I don't recall if they were ever resolved or if cgc told them to go :censored: themselves. I would assume that they would try everything in their power to avoid paying the original owner $$ since it would only open the flood gates to others.

I know of someone I did business with a couple years back who sent in 10 Spidey #252's...identical....9 came back 9.4...one came back 8.5 with a large 3" bend in the upper right corner.

CGC wouldn't fess up to it, but come on....the guy sent in 10 IDENTICAL books, and is not going to waste time sending in ONE that has such an obvious flaw.

that's pretty lame....they know damn well your buddy didn't put a jacked up copy in there.....about 8-9 years ago a friend of mine sent off a Michael Jordan 1986 Fleer rookie card off to PSA for grading. It belonged to a customer of his.It was pretty sweet, near mint.It came back in the holder with a dinged corner, like somebody there dropped it...they also denied it.

By the by...thanks for the t-shirt, CK! I wore it at the Joe Q signing on Saturday...someone asked if I was from the East Coast!

It was the first, last, and only time I will geek out and wear a comic shirt in public. ;)

Oh, no, it's a very 'cool' shirt as these things go...but I was standing in a crowded comic store, PACKED to the GILLS with comic ubergeeks...

...and I felt uncomfortable. ;)

But, hey, that's just my hangup. It's a REALLY nice shirt, and I thank you...you got a hell of a lot of 'free' advertising on Saturday. :)

1st post - I'd like to say thankds to the creator of the site as well as to all the members who still appreciate a well made comic.

I bought an x-men issue on e-bay that was graded 9.4 NM. However, the bottom left corner was damaged while it was being encased in the CGC holder. Looks like they didn't align the book right. No longer a 0.4 after CGC got a hold of it, but that is what the label says!?! If I were to ever sell it, I'd make sure that bidders/buyers know exactly what was up, unlike the guy I bought it from!
